Is it possible to work LEGALLY as a mobile hairdresser here????? I was under the impression that you had to have a work permit to work here and also a health card for the local beledeyesi - and that means working in a fixed location and undergoing health tests etc,

It seems unfair that people move here and work illegally while others abide by the law!!!!

Please correct me if i am wrong.

Competition is not the issue- as far as i am aware it is not possible to work legally as a mobile hairdresser ( unless the laws have changed in the last few weeks) - therefore this is NOT FAIR competition!!!!

As for CHOICE that is a different issue - customers should have choice and they do there - are lots of hairdressers in Kyrenia - who are working legally !!!!!

When business owners ( which i am not) have to pay overheads etc, and all working people pay taxes and national insurance payments ( which i, and plenty of others do) it seems unfair that others don't- and that covers all businesses not just hairdressing!!!!!!

As my last mes. as far as i am aware it is not possible to work as a mobile anything - as far as i am aware you need to work at a fixed address to obtain a work permit.

you can work as a freelance hairdresser and good luck to you, providing you have level 3 in hairdressing, if you have'nt Nultan Oral will help you there, a business permit and pay your taxes like the rest of us. mind you i wouldn't like to have to drive around this place looking for a road with no name, and a house with no number. very good luck x na

Msg 6,

I have always said the same as you -

"as far as i am aware it is not possible to work as a mobile anything - as far as i am aware you need to work at a fixed address to obtain a work permit." -

But when you stop to think about it, what about building workers whose employer may move them from one site to another? - or Landscape & maintenance gardeners ditto, or council workmen cleaning the verges, Road-layers, Police & Customs men, Tanker drivers, Pool cleaners?

Is there some provision that allows these employees to perform their work at a variety of locations away from their employers' premises, or are they all breaking the law?

Keith.

Hi, hrh n.a, can you please give us a little info, my wife studied hardressing in Russia, she has her education passports (little red books) and distinction certs, at 36 I suppose you would say she is a late starter in the business. She does not have extensive salon experience although she is currently employed in a Salon in Russia, she speaks Russian, fairly competent English and some Turkish. Having recently purchased a place in TRNC do you think there is scope for LEGAL employment in TRNC for her?? in your opinion would a Salon take her on legally or is the market flooded with hairdressers.

Thanks in advance for any info you can give us.

I used a mobile hairdresser in the UK but after a couple of times I stopped to think I was washing my own hair using my shampoo etc plus my electric to blow dry and cleaned up after her when she did a cut, was it worth it no, although she was very good I thought I might as well going to a Salon and let them use their equipment and they clear up the mess.

Sorry that's my view, plus they were no cheaper.

Sheila
