| Hi Rowlo... are we following each other As a scouser I have to agree, don't know about the world, but Europe and our premiership ... then probably. Certainly he has won the Prem more than any other manager and as such I agree with your assessment... But re Europe, and I have to admit this as an Evertonian, then Liverpool stand alone when their European achievements are comparted to other clubs , but that is comparing club achievemanets not managerial... that's why I agree. | It kills me to say it, but i have to agree, even thou he had nothing to do with the penaltys taken today, the players and keepers are on their own then..poor old spurs, as Billy Fury used to say, So near, yet so far away.. Chelsea fan.. |

Like to see him go to Derby & win them the Premiership ... Then to Notts Forest & win them the Premiership & back to back European Cups ... Cloughie did & they are both in similar positions now as to what they were when he took the reins ... Or to Blackburn & win it for them again ... "King Kenny" did after winning it for Liverpool ... Ok, ok, was the old 1st division ... All won in less time it took Sir Alex to win his 1st trophy for M. U. May as well give it to M.U. every season, not a level playing field any more ... The rich get richer & the poor struggle ... The greatest manager ???????

Quite right ... Then the big clubs came in & most of the players moved on for up to ten times what was paid ... 3.3m Shearer -15m to Newcastle ... 600k Le Saux -6m back to Chelsea .. 3.3m Shearer -15m to Newcastle ... Couldn't win it again, how can you replace those players .. One season wonders ??? What is it going to cost City

AndySue et al This post was making pleasant reading as different fans air support for their teams and then you spoil it all with such puerile and offensive remarks... Why... It's just a game. These kind of remarks bring your team, your city and our forum into disrepute and I am willing to bet anything you like Sir Alec does not agree with them... or Rooney for that matter? Keep it pleasant, please Regards Joseph

Hi Harita; I am most definately not a Man U fan... Everton... for me with a shade of respect for Liverpool F.C. I mean when you have three kids and two are blues and the other a red, what can you do You have to admit though you can't accuse Fergie of buying the prem in the early days, just the opposite after relegation, he was forced to put his trust in his young players and thank Heavens he did; without those kids we would not have had an England team to speak of: Beckham, Butt, Scholes, the Nevilles etc and that without mentioning my personal favourite Giggs (Welsh) I wonder that is todays problem with Prem managers... taking young lads and build/coach a team or are they expected to buy one? For me that is Liverpools problem, like Man U in that England team I mention above they supplied Owen,Fowler and McManaman with Gerard and Carragher coming through... since then ... no one? On that basis who are todays best managers or r they accountants now Regards Joseph

Hi joseph I don't think I accused anyone of buying the title .. Don't think you can buy it ... But when you have the money M.U. can generate ... It helps if only 1 or 2 20-30k players a season .. What about Pickering, Newton & England they would keep Blackburn solvent for a couple of seasons ..

Apologies Harita, must have misread your meaning I still wonder what would happen though if all the premiership clubs had to PRODUCE a team in the strict meaning of the word, as Fergie/Shankly did twenty years ago? One thought... I think we would get back to having a much better England team and a lot more of our youngsters would be given a chance at club level What do you think? Regards Joseph

Hi clayton How can clubs compete with the great M.U. ... When O.T. has 75,000 inside, it constitutes 70% of the population of Blackburn ... 50% of which are Asian & probably support M.U. .. Get a life Clayton, selling players is the only way the smaller clubs can exist .. Not greed ..

It's not all that long ago, when a club could only field 3 foreign players .. I was at the match when it was raised to 4 .. Who was that team I ask you buffs .. Maybe if those days were brought back or "cap" the money a team could pay out in wages .. Stopped Wigan sweeping the board in rugby league ..

Harita... spot on... I must admit to being a Wigan RLFC supporter but I can honestly say as an outsider, who came to respect the sport late on, that the viciuosness and anti Wigan feeling at that time was unbelievable. I suppose the more success you have the more it generates envy. Interestingly... after England defeat to Ireland last Saturday, ex eng. captain Will Carling said on interview that the RU enforcement of the salary cap was destroying Union in England. Apparently, something I ddn't know, it is only England that has... and enforces a salary cap. Too late for football I suppose to turn the clock bac ;-) Regards Joseph

M.U. need these small clubs to play in order to win all the trophies or would you rather watch matches on TV played at 2.00am in the morning from Japan, China, Brazil etc .. BTW why do you prefer M.U. to Hibs or Hearts .. Apologise if you're not M.U. & just stating a point.. |

harita we get 19000 at some reserve matches.add both manc supporters together that makes 38000 .mancs must be the worst supporters in england then.take a trip round the pubs around manchester when utd are playing away .see how many utd fans are in there who have not got tickets to go.unless you think they travel from london ,northern ireland and such to sit in the pubs in manc.mind you suppose the asians could travel from blackburn.

Redtom 'What else do we want to know'? Do you know that Shankley,Busby,Clough and Ferguson will probably go down in history as the greatest managers of all time. The majority of fans from which ever club will more than likely agree with those 4 from reading your recent postings something tells me you have little knowledge of the game and its history. I suppose if you were asked to name your top 4 managers of all time your reply would probably read Martin Jol,Avram Grant,John Barnes and Tony Adams . Kenny b

Rowlo, We really need defenders back.Starting with Gary Neville in the centre of defence, was in my opinion a mistake today. Not a big oshea fan but he is better suited to that position then Neville is plus he is taller.Vidic and Ferdinand where really missed today, Paul.

I agree hes got a bigger purple nose than any one else and a striker with lots of ability and a very strange looking head and a defender with a mr frog grimace. Facinating team to watch, its just like going to the circus to see the weird people.
