my house - we have it for 4 years now - we call it dodgy turk! it is good - sometimes i wish i could get bbc prime etc - but then i see what i am not missing and i am fine again. we get good films - modern - good action - top gear ect - great kids stuff - hannah montanah - zac and cody - cartoons...my favourıte programme DEXTER - more american than english - but still good. every now and again ıt goes off - ıt costs us 20tl to get ıt reset - then we get dıfferent channels....you also get some football and CAMEL RACING!!! ı thınk ıt ıs good especially for the price....

We recently added a Nilesat dish to existing Turksat and Hotbird dishes and are very happy with the free channels you pick up on it. It has a particularly good selection of movies (not latest releases but fairly recent), news, serials etc.



Based on this I think its the best single satellite free service if you are not trying to hack codes to access pay channels.

What is your guarantee that you can update ? ..and won't disappear as "pirates" *always* do when they can't "hack" the channels any more ?

Most or all of the above Nilesat channels (I haven't checked all) are free/ unencoded and in my case required no code cracking or undates to the satellite box just normal tuning.

28 is pretty right (don't generally view them all) but some of these maybe 8 or so aren't exclusively English language (such as some sport ones, MBC 1 and some of the others DW (which is half German) etc), which may account for this difference. They all show as free to air not with the $ pay symbol on the satellite menus that many others do on Nilesat, Hotbird etc.



I didn't buy this form the originator of this post (only paying for an extra satellite installation) and have no reason to believe these are meant to be pay channels. Generally I have been pleasantly surprised as to the quality of the English language content.

Yes any sat system can be shared



You can fit a QUAD lnb and have four independent feeds from one dish - the four receivers for each apartment



OR



Fit a Quattro lnb on th dish and a piece of kit called a Multiswitch and have 8, 12 , 16 , etc independent feeds off one dish.



Please note that there is a limit to how long you can run the cable - it will lose signal if the run is too long.. The cable HAS to be of good quality - low loss.

Hi, I already have a satellite from our old digiturk package, we are looking for something with a few free channels, as we've looked at Digiturk/Digital Supreme/Dopi and dont really want to be paying out monthly.



Which would be best for us to get - Nilesat / Hotbird / Al Jazeera etc? We would like to watch mainly motorsport (any), documentaries and a couple of film channels, thats all.

I think Nilesat is the best free option. There is pleanty of news and movie/ entertainment channels. There is one motorsport channel but it doesn't carry Formula 1. If the Digiturk decoder works for Nilesat I would guess you only need someone to move the dish or in the worst case put in a new one. Should be a lot cheaper than setting up a new system.
