Since living here have you made any really good friends, especially with the locals? For example do you socialise with them, have them over for a meal perhaps.

Hiya Bill Good Morning. Yes in answer to uour question we have made a few cypriot friends from both sides. We have been to thier homes for dinner and they have to ours. They give you thier hearts and will be there for you. Also some customers have become really good friends now and we enjoy time with them on our days off.I have also made many friends from this forum which we keep in touch with via email or skype once they return. There are good and bad everywhere its just keeping real friends special. The expats seem to be a bit clickey and stick to thier own groups.You take care xxxxxxxxx

I have found it more difficult to find friends here than in the UK as I was working then, firstly I live in an APT complex and most of the owners only come over 2/3 times a year, also being a woman on my own, that makes it difficult to go to a lot of places Restaurant/Bars etc but I have made a few friends here but most of them have partners so it has to be during the day if we meet up, but I do miss the socialising part since being here. I suppose if I lived in or near a village that would be better, but I am a happy go lucky person so I just grin and bare it. I have just joined a gym so that might be a good start.

I also think Cyprus is a mans world, but when you read on the forum that there are special functions/quiz etc you will find that couples go, and I agree with Lilli that a lot of the ex-pats are clicky but hopefully things might change, take care

i think the clicky ones are those who think they are better than everyone else,lol.

i also saw disgracefull expat behaviour at the kar dog show last year.

expats clicking in one area and tc's in the other.

what is the matter with those people?

i always try and mix.

I only visit NC at Christmas & New Year for 4 weeks staying at the Pie Bella, I do like to spend a little time away from my husband (with him 52 weeks of the year) during the day and like a chat and a coffee with lady friends as I miss the ones at home. This seems to be getting a life of it's own. Initially I thought this was going to be for a few people who were on their own to go along and meet each other. Is it partners and husbands as well now? It's one thing walking into a place on your own to meet a dozen people, but quite another to meet 50 odd when you don't know anyone. Sorry if that sounds unsociable, but the whole thing is sounding rather daunting now.

I replied at first to the posting for a girls get together for a coffee lunch etc, at Guido's so that Liz the Owner who is a friend of mine could join us and not be left out, and quite a few have replied and said that they would love to come along, maybe for a drink/coffee of if they want to a lunch depending on what they wanted to do, but you must come along if only to have a coffee etc with us don't worry I am on my own and there are only women going not their partners etc, although Liz has posted a menu it does not mean we all have to go for lunch it was just a get together that's all,I hope its not escalated and putting friends off going, please let me know Stella, there are a few of us I dont know how many only 5/6 I know of, not a full blown up party so dont worry.
