Article from South Cypriot paper today!

AP - (NICOSIA)

In a response to an apparent arial threat that crossed into Cyprus from the TRNC, Cypriot airforce figher jets downed a UK civilian wearing a jetpack.

"It appears that the civilian, known as UKTURK, lost his bearings and crossed over the border by accident. We were unable to make radio contact, and thus downed the suspicious flying object," noted Cypriot Air General Poppos Assos.

Assos went on to claim that the TRNC was at fault because it had not provided the Cypriot military warning that jetpacks were allowed in North Cyprus.

"Are pilots are kinda dim," Assos noted. "The Turkish military has the intention of making us look bad and that is exactly what happened."

The TRNC government replied that the "name of the Cypriot general gives away were he seems to have stuck his head".

So if he had stuck to his own advice on what mobile network to use he might not have been shot down, must have been out of range!!!!!!

However Cypriot Air General Poppos Assos, was heard to say perhaps that will get those meddlesome Bas????? cyprus44 of our backs.

No doubt he will make one of his grand entrances when we least expect it.I think he could be laying low until the second leg against arsenal when spurs progress to the final.

Hi Erkan, welcome back. It's been really weird reading all the newer threads and not seeing a post from you. It's not the same, that's for sure. I appreciate that you get a bit bored with the same old questions, but sometimes, even though I know the answers are probably all there SOMEWHERE, I am just as guilty about being too lazy to scroll back through all the pages to look for them!! It's easier to just ask, even though I know for some people it must be like "oh God, not THAT question again"!!! Anyway, as you can gather, we all miss you when you're not around ...

thanks abby

missed you to!!!! lol missed you all before you all start (well most of you!!! lol)

dont get me wrong i love helping people and posting adding my own twist of humor, it is not even being lazy because the same subject they are asking is sometimes even on the same page lets just put it down to inexperiance (putting it nicely)

thanks again for your kind words

warm regards

erkan

Welcome back I thought perhaps you were orbiting the earth looking to rescue people/countries etc and had caught your cape in one of those satelites up there and was stranded (only joking).

But, its nice to have familiar people back.

Apreciate you have been busy and cannot fit everything in, (know how it feels!)and yes some times some postings are repeated. I presume the box at the top of the page can be used for searching 44 or does it take people sraight into google?

There is also the popular posts people could try to see if anything has been written before.

hi erkan , got us all going for a moment eh , nice to have you back , i do wholeheartedly agree with you , the same questions do arise time after time , i think that people should go through the posts before they ask for imfomation,i appreciate there lots of posts, but really if you are doing your research properly , you should put in the time as we have said so many times before ,research , research , research , its invaluable

kind regards pat

I would say, in my defence, if you don't have the luxury of unlimited time/access to the internet, you sometimes have to rely on the kindness of other people to offer you advice as quickly as possible. You simply don't have the time to search through old threads looking for what you want. I would LOVE to have the time to spend hours doing research, research, research. I would LOVE to have unlimited internet access to spend reading up about my favourite subject at the moment, which is North Cyprus, but alas I don't................ so I for one am very grateful to Erkan for his patience at answering boringly familiar questions, and to the many others who do so also.

i hear what you are saying abbg , and do appreciate your plight and luckily , yes i do have the luxury of unlimited time on my hands. please do not think i am unsympathic because i am not , but sometimes when the question comes up for about the 4th or 5th time you do think to yourself , oh no that one again . could there be a way of catagorising ? perhaps izzet could do something about it .what do you think ?

kind regards pat

hi guys

morning to you all thanks to you all for all your kind words i really apreciate it,

abby you dont have to defend yourself i understand that you dont have the unlimited internet time thats why you contacted me via email and i was more than happy to help and my problem is not directed at you more at the newbies who have the time because there is no excuse if these people who are emigrating to cyprus dont take the time to research and cypher thru pages and pages of info how do they expect to survive in cyprus

also its not just the repetitive questions that bug me its also the questions that get asked via email or this forum i.e whats the weather like in the north pole, whats the best toy shop to visit, wheres the best place to get english food from, how miles and how long does it take to get from one place to another using 40ytl worth of peterol!!!! LOL

there must be a way these general unimportant questions can be put into a certain catergory on this forum, and another thing that bugs me like i said i love helping people but when i take time out and reply to people's emails in a very detailed way i dont even receive a thanks and dont hear from them again that gets on my tits!!!!! (erkan is for life not just x-mas!!!! LOL) You know who you are!!!!

ok thats it ive waffled on to much but got everything off my chest!!!! lol

again thanks to everyone for their kind words and lets hope izzet sorts this problem out cos at the end of the day even thou northcyprusforum is more advanced the majority of people prefer cyprus44

good day to you all

I really miss my days when I worked at Cardiff University and had unlimited internet access. When I turned on my computer this morning at the office I had 60 minutes internet use only, and these are in 10 minute slots, after which time I have to log in again and start all over again. I spend most of my allotted time looking up info about NC, and it's not nearly enough. I cannot tell you how frustrating it is, and I do understand your comments are made to those who are just too lazy or don't know how to access the right pages of information they need. Anyway, enough already, I need to do some more research!!! My weekend starts in a couple of hours. Have a great weekend everyone, and just to let you all know I absolutely appreciate all the time everyone takes to respond to one of my threads.

Cheers, Abby
