I remember reading a while ago about the electric bug/pest repellents, I cant find the thread. Does anyone have first hand experience if these high frequency pest controllers really work? What are they called?

I took a solar powered insect zapper over to the TRNC this seems to keep the mozzies and sand flies down at night on the patio. Bob.

Ebay have some - they plug in and have ultra violet light which somehow zaps the bugs, just sent for some about £12 for 4. Don't know how effective they are but we'll see! I looked them up by typing in 'Mosquito killers' Maggie

Sorry Turbo , I bought some last year the 5 in 1 plug and tested them out in Ghana . They worked , also used the citronella impregnated anklets and bracelets . This will be my first line management in combat with the enemy from now on Hope you are keeping well , Simbas

Maggie, I used to have the ultra violet zapper, but was unable to use it in the bedroom, it was too bright, and I found that it didn't work on sand flies either.

Thanks for the responses, am still looking, haven't managed to find any that have had good reviews. I was going to ask family to bring some of the plug in ones to Cyprus if they work..the US is on a 110 watt , so they wouldn't work over there.
