Its has to be Crossroads, though Roots was voted the best soap ever by the liesure and culture sub committee of the National Party back in 1984.

Thought the soldiers in the Falklands started calling the locals 'Stills' and when asked why they were calling them by that name, said They are still Bennys.

Hi Joseph, you,ve got good taste. Absolute classics.

About 7 years ago we went to the cinema below the LEMAR next to Veli;s Pegasus. It was about 38c outside the cinema was cool and we were the Only punters in the place. It was surreal.Paid about £3 . The Film was about an American Reporter in Cambodia starring Michael Caine Fantastic home grown Actor. Can;t remember the title?

Hi Bill.

Why the interest?

Are you trying to sort out and ridicule the people who watch all that tosh?

I am sure real men don't watch soaps.

TRNColdboy

Re Cambodia movie, do you mean starring Mel Gibson?

This was in Indonesia

"The Year of Living Dangerously" .... Sigourney Weaver provided the female interest and Vangelis did the film music which was superb...

Lynda Hunt.. playing a man... won an oscar I think

The music became a classic

Meanwhile I'm wracking my brains for a Micheal Caine movie in Cambodia

Hi TRNColdboy

Got it... The Quiet American... shot in Vietnam... film was made in 2002 and you are right... starred Micheal Caine...

If you get a chance to see Gibson in The Year Of Livving.... watch it just for the music... you will enjoy it

Hi Trnc...

" Bad Day At Black Rock "

Absolute classic.

I used to love trying to spot the young actors to see if any made the "grade" and became famous ... and sure enough...

Ernest Borgnine and Lee Marvin

Regards Joseph
