I too am new to this forum and have found it very informative. A close friend moved to NC in 2005 and having visited, I bought a completed apartment in Girne in November 05. My wife and I visit 3 -4 times a year. We live in West Sussex so good for Gatwick whilst CTA fly from there in the summer. Still waiting for our permission to buy. I thank you in advance for any advice received! Martin

Hi Everyone, I am also new to this board ,but have been reading all threads daily for about a month now and I think it's brilliant !!!Loads of useful info with a bit of humour thrown in. I am living in Wales and have bought an apartment in Bogaz near Famagusta. We are hoping to move over in October for a year to see if we want to live in TRNC permanently. The only thing that is bothering my husband Shaun is the fact that he may be bored not working as we are not at retirement age yet!! It seems that many of you have bought Girne to Esentepe area ,but I still enjoy reading all your comments. Thanks

Thanks for your welcome. We bought an apartment offplan back in Sept 2004 ,which was completed Nov 2005.It is at Hilltop Village (now renamed Safakoy). We have been back and forth twice a year since. I love the apartment ,but the maintenance fees went up a lot the 2nd year ,compared with what we payed in 2006. Bogaz Harbour is lovely, with a few good restaurants and one or two Bars (very important) We have made some good friend already, both British and Turkish.I am hoping to learn Turkish but cannot find any classes in Newport or Cardiff Pilgrim, are New Villas at the front of Safakoy .

Pilgrim, Do you pass the Kebab place (can't think of the name now) on the way to your Villa. Friends of ours are renting a villa in Iskele. There are about 2 or 3 rows of white houses with glass bricks built up the stairs and has it's own pool. Their names are Tracey and Steve and they used to run the Peace Bar . My favourite Beaches on the Bogaz/Famagusta side are Bafra ,Malibu and Golden beach at the Karpaz

Hi Simbas, Yes,they are very nice villas.Do you go out to your villa often? I know my way around Bogaz and Iskele quite well, but don't know names of different sites. June 2007,we spent a few nights at the Iskele Festival which was interesting.Different folk dancing each night ,stalls selling all sorts, plenty of Kebab places and the beer bar.It was good fun. When are you next out there? We are visiting our apartment in Bogaz first two weeks in May
