Hi Muzer

we spent last summer at Crystal Bay, boought a 3g turkcell dongle with a months usage from lemar by the roundabout (nice girl, speaks good English & set it all up) loaded it onto our laptop back at the villa & had excellent unlimited internet service for the next month. We do have a really good laptop - I don't know whether this makes a difference.

I can't quite remember but excellent value, I think it was something like 150 ytl for the dongle & 70 + ytl for the month internet - excange rate was better then! It was about £70 for the two items for the month. Once you have the dongle you just buy another card as you do for a mobile. They only come as monthly cards or annual though.

Hi Guys,

sorry to burst your bubble but we emailed Nurten as we are going out in the middle of April and expected to move into our apt and guess what?no chance. She is saying that they can't guarantee entry as the electricity company won't give a definite date for connection.

We have a friend who visited the site yesterday and says that the road is a quagmire. He had difficulty getting into the site and delivery of furniture is impossible. They have laid the first tile in the pool and that's as far as they have gone.

We're not best pleased as we are there for three weeks and it looks like we may have to find accomodation elsewhere.

Muzer you are lucky getting compensation and it looks like you will get a lot more.

We were just about to book our flight luck. We will probably go later. pitywill keep you upto date.

Hi, just joined forum. We are in D4 cbp.

Looks like the same old story across the board. We were told completion and handover would be Aug 2008 and we are now corresponding with our solicitor re compo.

Hi Clayton,

I paid separately for the white goods. Just wondering how much you paid for your furniture package. If I can get the time, I am hoping to travel out end May/June.

Hi Gary

Many thanks for responding. I sent an email to Mermaid Fabrics and Denise quoted £850.00 for the curtain pack and £1915 for a standard furniture pack. I thought that was way too expensive so plan to visit Mermaid and a few furniture stores when I'm there. Do you have any photos (of the lounge/bedroom furniture that you purchased? Don't particular like the wrought iron stuff - looks a bit cheap. By the way, you are just opposite me as I'm in C2. Is your place just a holiday home or are you relocating?

I will definitely be in touch to pick your brains a lot more!

Thanks a lot,

Chrystalake

sorry crystalake.

i have no photos.what i think you should do is call in yourself and see the different styles of furiture and different fabrics that these can be made out of.i am hopeing to relocate there in a few years ,but for now it is just a holiday home.there are plenty of other shops in kyrenie so would advice you to look round.i went with mermaid because i thought she was very hepfull and denise couldnt do enough to help.

i am going out there on the 16 may for 2 weeks so hope to buy some patio furniture.

please keep in touch if you need anything .

Howdy neighbour.

I'm just waiting for the snagging so I can book a flight just for a few days initially. Want to check out the apartment generally as I note from the drawing that the wardrobe (pics already received) has been fitted to the wall closest to the bathroom when, from the drawing, it should have been fitted to the wall opposite. Is your wardrobe fitted correctly as per the drawing? Anyway, the opposite wall which one views when entering the masterbed is a much longer wall so more storage space. I've asked Nurten to confirm anyway. I then want to visit on handover for about a week if I can get away.

Is yours a holiday home or relocating?

Thanks for the message!

Chrystalake holiday at the moment. our wardrobe is on the same wall never checked the drawings but it fine.

The time you fit king size bed in you still have room also the air con is on the big wall.

take care

Hi Muzer,

OK, that explains it but I was talking about wardrobe space - (you know, ladies with all their clothes! LOL) In addition, the aircon unit would have fitted quite sufficiently on the smaller one unless of course, the deviation from the contract was a cost-cutting one. Shall await Nurten's comments.

In the meantime, if I plan to go over during any of your above dates, I will let you know!

Take care,

Chrystalake

Hi again, Gary,

Just heard from Nurten that utility connection cost is £2,500! Is this about right? I estimated in the region of about £1000 so think this is extremely excessive.

Any comments?

Thanks in advance, Gary!

Hi again! Have you heard how much the utility connection fees are? Am I the only one who thinks that £2,500 is very high??

I won't be able to get out there before handover so would really appreciate your comments before coughing up all this money.
