The last ever bag of pick'n'mix from Woollies has been sold on eBay for £14,500.10! What did the mystery buyer get for his money? A 2lb bag of strawberry bob bons, rhubarb and custards, fizzy cola bottles, Turkish delight, pineapple cubes and white mice.

Hmmm...not sure I would have spent that amount of money on a perishable Woolies relic, but each to his own I guess!

I wonder if the buyer will actually eat them or just save them?

Bill,

I've got a couple of mint condition "Woolworths Closing Down Sale" posters. Reckon I should stick them on e-Bay?

Macha. You'll have no trouble selling them - if a bag of sweets went for all that money I reckon you're sitting on a fortune! )

do you think they were still in date?

i think it is sad to see woolies go, but i don't think they moved with the times in recent years and the cc was the final blow.

Stick "www.google.com" in yer browser, hit return and when Google comes up, put your subject word or words in, hit return again and you should get pages and pages of stuff that's been written about the subject.

The lady who bought them has a sweetshop, very close to the woolies that closed down.
