Currently 2.54 for a £. I'm on for 2.6 against the £ within the next couple of weeks, then probably all the way back down to 2.2 in time for my next visit.

I think it is a good time to change your pounds into Turkish Lira. Having said that I am not buying and not selling, I am not a gambler.

i have really began to enjoy playing this game. (Forex)

I am waiting on 2.55 or higher at the moment.

i find that it makes you more aware of each countries political and economic news, as you try and guage where the currency will head.

as of 13:10 GMT, Yahoo is showing 2.5426.

It sure beats leaving my money in a dead end british bank paying minimal interest.

Changing into TL might be a good idea but with all the banks here cutting the interest rates that makes it even more of a gamble.

WE had a call from a family member who works for one of the big banks and he said that all the banks are cutting their rates and customers are not being told until they go to collect their monthly interest so will be interesting to see what happens.

With Gordon printing money, 75 BILLION £s, how long before sterling crashes?

What happens if Turkish bank goes bust what are the chances of you seeing any of your money? ( does 15% cover that risk )

I think it would be in Turkey's interest if the TL hit 3 to the £ before Easter and during the summer season as it will help increase the number of tourists visiting the non-Eurozone Republic, I am sure that when the IMF loan is approved then the TL will hit 3TL to the pound.

Aslan

if it hits 3 to the £ you watch the prices rocket in the restaurants, it happened before but surprisingly did not go down when the rate dropped.
