Can anyone recommend the best value pump for a 8x4 pool.

Seem to need a new pump every year due to voltage surges and drops.

Is there any device that anyone uses to stop the pump getting damaged when the power varries to avoid future problems.

Thanks

Del

Go and see MR Pipe in Karakum, he is very helpful and will sort out any pump problems, he also gives you a years warranty on any new pumps.

We have been supplying and fitting Astral pumps for over 5 years and they don't suffer from this problem, as far as we know. Can't say the same thing about the other brands though.

only Astral.

but if you have a little to invest get a Speck DC pump and a solar system from us.

no surges, no power cuts, no electricity bill for 25+ years.

you should not replace the pump every year. My customers using their pump more then four- five years. you should check the electric connections in to the pump room if there is any termic and contactor fitted which saves your pump for high and low voltage.

Hi Del62,

You don't have to replace your pump every year, Just get a good service every year, if you have a problem with your pump it is repairable.

Del62,

You could try fitting a voltage stabilizer on your pool power supply. Depending on the rating of the pump you may need a 1 to 1.5kVA stabilizer.
