Black and white tiled floor soon to be found in Bellapais and St Hilarion areas, together with lumps of stone etc. Boards have also been traced.

Sorry newlad but I think the northeast starts in Yorkshire.

Now I know Hull is is not in the Midlands and it isn't in the Northeast, so where is it. Answers on a postcard.

Bilko, do you think some tiles may be found as well especially if they keep knocking a few times. And will men be able to gather there soon? As I would like to join in.

You will need a great architect if the new Cypriot edifices are to be anything like square, level and perpendicular. I wish you well.

Newlad,

I apologise, I have checked and Hull is definitely in Yorkshire but only just.

So it is not the real North East, not like Co Durham and Northumberland. Where if you can live through a winter there, you can live anywhere.

North east! - get your independence here at no cost at all - Cleveland the place to live when the government did away with the North Riding! Any further North than that and you risk being classed as a Jock!

I never went to any points of the compass as I travelled away a lot, but have been warmly greeted by plenty in the east on my travels. One of them in the west wore a top hat to welcome me. Memories

Othello's two daughters will be born in Limassol in October this year - date to be announced - and thereafter will be regularly residing in Larnaca. Soon after, it is anticipated that they will re-locate closer to their named areas viz Bellapais and St Hilarion. Some ears to grow and water to flow in the meantime.

Regards to all

Hi Kitty Kat Jac,

Couldn't agree more. Darlington is a beautiful town with victorian parks. The Yorkshire dales and moors on it's doorstep and the North Pennines an easy drive away. It also has history being the birthplace of the railways. The majestic Durham Cathedral and Castle all within twenty minutes drive. Both my hubby and I were born in Darlo so of course we are bias.

Said with the eloquence that only an ex pat can! Gods own country!

Never forget the Fish and Chip shop in Staindrop. Grub to die for. Our Engineers used to drive all the way back from London, only to enjoy the Fish and Chips, at Staindrop!

PS Stunning pictures from Lydon, of our development. Credit where it is due! Thankyou!

KKJ,

Heaven! .....The owner of The Fish and Chip shop actually came outside in 1997 and gave our Scottie Pup, a fish pattie. What a lovely guy! We lost our dog last year but the memories are there for ever. In my view.......the finest fish and chip establishment in the North Esat!

Arthur;

I am not one, but even I can see that the thread is of men who prize honour and virtue above the external advantages of rank and fortune.

Hi Witchfinder

So are there any 'clubs' in northern Cyprus and are they associated with the English Constitution?

It's quite active in the south.

Surely if youn are all Brtish then a true North East person would come from the Aberdeen, Peterhead and Fraserburgh areas of Scotland where the weather is harsh and the people are really tough!!

Hi Briano, There may be a new club opening in the North but they play in the south and only practice in the north.

Hi Cyprusishome,

Where abouts in Darlington do you come from and which school did you attend. I went to North Road Girls and Hubby went to St Mary's grammer.

Thanks Witchdinder

Things became very complicted here when a number of clubs came under the control of the Greek Constituion a couple of years back - with the bulk remaining English - and now, neither the twain shall meet.

I was due in the Chair of King S. last month, but stood down for personal reasons.
