Does any one know where we can purchase those blue light mossie zappers, dont know what they are called. Ones you can use indoors out outdoors.

I had two mossies in my bedroom last night so I ended up putting the airconditioning on to freeze them into a coma then I killed them...no sleep but only 1 bite on my ear..

I also get bitten to death by the mozzie's, they have started on me already this week!!

I am also covered in scars from last year, they had a good old party on me.

Is it true that they like a certain blood group? I am 0 positive, does anyone else with this blood group get lots of bites also?

Hi all,

I too, am blood group 'o', not sure if that's significant. I solved the problem last year with plug in ultrasonic repellers. I know that they only work in the house, but I slather myself in the Skin so soft dry oil spray if I'm outside in the evening.

Coachie

Thats great but over here if we order anything from e bay etc we will not receive it as we dont get any postal service here, so we either have to wait and hope someone offers to bring them out to us, we could buy on line and get what we want, I will have a look at e bay and hope that I can get it brought over.

Thanks for the info

Greenium stock several types of mosquito killers. Their shop is on the Karakum road, next door to The Courtyard.

We recenly purchased an electric bug zapper which has two blue strip lights.

It's called "Pestcute" and we purchased it from a shop in Girne.

We have it plugged in the kitchen and for the last week it has zapped countless mozzies and other flying objects!!

Hi Shiela

Hope you are well.

I cannot remember the name of the shop but I can give you directions.

If you go past ING bank heading towards the Savoy Hotel.

On the right hand side between the two there is a small electric shop on a corner.

I think it's a couple of shops away from a large shoe shop (foxy lady???.....could be wrong on the shoe shops tittle though)!!!

I am doing my regular trip into town on friday so if my directions don't help you find it....let me know and I will either find out what it is called or meet you in town and take you to it.

Regards

Judy

What I find quite amazing is that with all the worlds top scientists they havent found a formula to market in tablet form to keep the blood suckers away...AMAZING.

You would think that it would be possible for the manufacturers to put something into suntan lotion to repel mossies and sandflies, it surely wouldn't be that difficult. I know Boots do an aftersun with a mossie repellelant in it.

Avon used to do a combo sun lotion but they discontinued it.

Great shame.

Boots now do suntan lotion with insect repellant. It comes in various factors. We have just bought it for the first time, so no idea whether it works.
