We "lost" Extend in the Bogaz area a couple of months ago and were forced to go to Turkcell 3G. I know those in the great Metropolis of Girne think it is wonderful, but spare a thought for us out in the far east. It is bloody awful, slow and unreliable.

If you are thinking about it in the Bogaz/Iskele area.........Don't.

I am in Catalkoy and I can only use 3G with any good speed first thing in the morning and up to lunch time thereafter I am lucky if I can even get on line. I keep getting told it will improve.

Scoobydoo, I'm in Catalkoy and have my internet from Nethouse. 80ytl a month, and it's excellent. Nice people too.

if you are in Bogazi you can get a CYTA Vodafone sim and work off the transmiters in the "rump" RoC.. much cheaper calls to home ;)

I already use SoEasy as my main mobile for calls to UK etc, I doubt the signal would be strong enough for Internet and the system is very expensive.

Back in the Summer it worked ok for me.. I was using SKYPE chat on Fring on my Nokia, browsing, AND making / receiving calls concurrently.



I was on contract rates.

I'd suggest Nethouse, too. Their customer relations excellent, especially compared to any other firm in NC. Besides, they call you when you have only 3 days left, and tell you that you need to renew your account, which is very helpful. If you couldn't go and renew on time, don't worry. You have the chance to connect to the internet for two more days, free!
