| We bought a 2nd hand car just before Christmas and it cost 200 or 250TL to get our names on the logbook. Had to go with the previous owner to her local Muhtar with our passports first where he completed a form then took that and logbook to tax office in Lefkosa, paid the fee and the logbook was changed. |

| The fee for changing named ownership on a vehicle log book is 250YTL If the vendor and purchaser go to the Lefkosa (DVLA) together then there is no need for a Muhtar stamp, form or letter, if the purchaser goes to the (DVLA) alone then a Muhtars stamp, form or letter is required. Directions: follow the main road directly into Lefkosa at the TurkCell HQ take a left follow the road round take the first right with a small buffet/cafe at the corner and park up the office is a nissan hut type building at the head of the car park, once inside take a ticket and ask for the transfer document to fill in, the form asks for the following information of both purchaser and vendor. Name Address and contact number Passport/Kimlik card number Occupation signature you will require 6.60YTL in stamps which can be purchased at post offices or from a vendor just outside the building. |
