Does anyone know where I can purchase fresh milk as it seems to of dried up everywhere. I know the dairy was once going to move to Turkey so perhaps they have left TRNC!!

Hi Stephen,

Although I am Turkish Cypriot I personally missed the smell of fresh milk and vegetables without hormons.

Has been a long time I have not heard or see anybody selling fresh milk ( straight from the churn) I can only advise you to go to farms and ask for a pint or two.

I personally dont use and "koop" or "lemar" products because they are tasteless....I normally buy a make called "yörsan"....still in a long life package but you "can" really taste the milk. But unfortunately you can only buy them military canteens.

Good luck anyway..

Huseyin

my eggs are tc village eggs from a friends chickens, thanks.

i don't disagree that you need to watch out for eggs after having very nasty food poisoning from eggs last year.

its taken me about 6 months to even cook with another egg, lol.

I posted a new topic re the unavailability of fresh milk. Reason I got from Ileli supermarket was that the bottling machine was kaput. Thank God I am going south on Monday.

I hate the idea of buying fresh milk from the south but the supply over here is so hit and miss. I buy some and freeze it so at least I can have some when the local shops run out

I would like to support the trnc where ever possible but unfortunately when it comes to fresh skimmed milk it is a little impossible as i have not found any to date and i hate the uht stuff.

Maybe the spots are different on a gc cow!

IS there such a thing as "fresh milk" in Cyprus

I would like someone in the know to "put me straight".. I once heard that most milk on the island was reconstituted from powder... it's not like we see that many cows, munching on green grass is it..?!
