R U Proud . . . For attacking 2 young Celtic fans celebrating their team's cup win? For there being - what - 10 of you and 2 of them? For hitting the young girlfriend of one of them - all 7 stone of her? R U Proud ...? Oh - and thanks very much to the owners / staff - who did NOTHING during this attack. The police weren't even called. Trouble in Paradise - definitely!

The sale of cheapo "exchange" property was a green light for scummy lowlifes to pitch up in a place they don't belong. It just lowers the tone and gives decent expats a bad name.

Hi AJ Don't think it really matters - does it? But if you are curious, they were Brits. I didn't post to get into 'Brits Abroad Bashing' (Macha msg 7), but hopefully to shame those who did it - if they read this forum of course!

newlad, Football-related pub fights involving the Old Firm generally involves scummy lowlifes. I've arrested a good number of them over the years and know the background. As I said, the cheaper and dodgier the property, the cheaper and dodgier the person attracted to it.

Pikey; Let`s get this right, you think that the Scots are scummy low lifes who came here because of the affordable housing and are giving Brits a bad name? Strange that, because there is a rumour around that one such person lives in Karaoglangolu and spends most of his time sitting at the computer firing off hate filled missives at all and sundry using various aliases. By the way, there are loads of Scots in the Lapta area and never a hint of trouble even when the old firm get together.

Hi Macha Don't know about 'scummy lowlifes' - but the 6ft 6" 40-ish guy who started it off by throwing the first punch at a 5ft 5" 20 year old was, according to his mates, an ex-squaddie. He wasn't known to the boys, who were regulars in Paradise, so perhaps a tourist, and he, or some of his mates, spoke with English accents.

| Derek Camouflage, The poor soldiers deaths (God Bless Them) were never mentioned, bullies and cowards trying to hide under someone else's tragedy, how low can they go? beating up a young boy and his girlfriend because they can't accept defeat, and a bit of banter. They are Just trying to justify there violent actions any way possible. I wonder if the same guys were at the UEFA cup final in Manchester last year. Maybe trying to watch on the big screen. Rangers & Celtic have been trying to get rid of people like this for years, for the sake of all the good fans. FOOTBALL, ENJOY THE GAME, NOT THE SHAME. | As a witness to Sunday's trouble at the Paradise Bar I can only say that the facts posted are extremely biased. For those of us that were sober and enjoying the game we know there was light-hearted banter from both sets of supports, it was only after the match had finished and personal insults had been thrown (which had nothing to do with football) that violence erupted. I do not condone the fighting of the few that took part but there was definitely fault on both sides and for the majority of us who were there to enjoy an afternoon's entertainment it was a very poor end to what had been a great day out. I give my support to the owners of the bar who do not deserve the criticism they have been given. Every week myself & regulars are made welcome, provided with excellent service and permitted the opportunity to watch sporting events that would otherwise not be possible and if they appeared slow in responding to the trouble maybe that's because the last fight there was 20 years ago! |

Theres 5 Rangers fans sent down to Manchester for rioting last year.First of many who will be charged using CCTV evidence. 90,000 Celtic fans were in Seville for a cup final in 2003. Over a 5 day period not one arrest.Theres a difference.

I've just gone through this thread and I have to agree with Clews. I was at paradise on sunday and witnessed the shamefull fighting between old firm fans and I would like to point out as an impartial witness to the events that took place, regardless of what calamity has posted: Both sides were equally to blame. As a scot I am familiar with the usuall old firm bile and I can tell you now hand on heart I heard both sets of fans signing sectarian songs (IRA SONGS AND THE FAMİNE SONG), which is an absolute disgrace. After the final whistle things got more personal between the protagonists and eventually punches were thrown. But I think some perspective is neccessary here, the first punch was thrown by a rangers fan who looked to be at least 60. This wasn't just youngsters getting out of hand, which begs the question what was said to provoke this? As I said ı think a little perspective is neccessary and people shouldn't just make accusations, especially when they were not even pr
