cheapest way is direct through the airline, cost by weight of animal plus transport box. 2 cats cost approx. 15GBP each in 2005, animals travelled on same plane as us, went direct to quarantine on arrival. email direct if any more info needed.

hi amber

i think the answer is no time soon.

i think it is political firstly.

i have been speaking with my vet regarding supporting a microchipping system and database so until the basics are put in place i don't think we have a hope in hell.

with people still smuggeling animals from turkey, the south and elsewhere and the possible risks of disease, again until these issues are address here, how can they ever hope to become part of the pet passport system?

defra ar far from perfect but in the uk we do have rules for a reason.

Fire starter/Amber.

The TRNC was part of the UK pets passport scheme until 2004 when the ROC joined the EU. Yes it political! It appears only UK, Northern Ireland and Sweden do not accept a TRNC pet passport.

It does seem all the countries in the PPs have different rules. France for instance.

Speak to Margaret at KAR. She told me last year the Pet Passport issue was being discussed at a high level with Defra.

There is an organisation called Quaff. Look at their website they might be able to help?

hi aripointer

i recon defra are still laughing!

whilst this country turns a blind eye to smuggling of animals from everywhere and anywhere how are they ever going to be taken seriously?

i don't blame defra and until this country gets its act together it wont change.

sad but true.

Hi,

If you are looking to send your pet to and from Cyprus, there is a good company in Heathrow.

I use them twice a year and they are very efficient.

I usually speak with somebody called Gareth.

His email.

gareth@tfalogistics.com

Gatwick to Paphos: £322

Paphos to Gatwick: £395

They sorted every thing out for me, and were very good.

Im not too sure on the prices for dogs, but its well worth a email.

Thanks

Kym
