Hi Kavenkoy

re msg 1

We had a combi in Cyprus and had one in the UK... We had a Worcester fitted in 1991 and it was STILL going strong when we sold the property in 2001 ( one dry joint in a motherboard - being the only problem)

As long as you get one with the capacity that suits your apartment, you should have no problems re heating... I only found the Combi "weak" when the temperature of the incoming water was very cold.. not going to be an issue in Cyprus.

I am not an expert but if it is only for hot water then you do not need a Combi Boiler, just a water heater fitted. You also need to take advice about fitting this type of boiler in an apartment as it may need to meet certain regulations.

I am sure there must be some heating engineers who will be able to help you on this thread.

Spot on piggy, what you are looking for is an instantainious gas water heater, as piggy says a combi is for both central heating and hot water. There was a thread running about these heaters not too long ago ( maybe a month or two )

either on here or the villa owners site.
