Does anyone know how the housing market is doing over there? The uk market has virtually stopped and prices falling rapidly. Is it the same there?

ALL of Cyprus in freefall... best and safest buys are placed with deeds.. and in "TRNC" that means pre 74 Turkish / Foreign owned...

You should rent for a few weeks in Winter, and decide if it's the place for you..

i know a few agents and although the market is quiet, they are still selling houses here and there. completed stuff, built to a high standard seems to be the order of the day.

Buyers turning their noses up at botched and part built up rubbish.

ps: i do hpe you use the "cut and paste" facility on your computer as most of the stuff you post is the same old twaddle - do you get some sort of kick out it ?

the big guy in the sky pulled the plug on property prices last autumn

and this affects everyone from talinn to timbuctoo

but loans "linked" to the euro will be hardest hit, especially in "new" europe

the herd mentality is to seriously take fright,

nonetheless the prime time for bargain-hunters is right now:

if anyone actually has any dosh they will be spoiled for choice

it was in the news paper i don't think it is on line.

bad press about seaterra mortgages on the properties and sweet homes, tatlisu the developer bulldozed garden walls of some residents in a dispute.

if i were here looking at property i would run a mile.

Yes I agree with message 13

property in North Cyprus is very cheap compared to the rest of the med.

I know there is the political thing to be sorted, but i think long term it will turn out to be a good investment.

mess 15

yes well this is only my opinion, maybe you have been unlucky and had a bad experience with a property here.

Buying property is a long term investment and at the moment prices are low because of the credit crunch and in North Cyprus there is plenty of room for growth if you buy a good build and in the right location

Mess. 17 because I like my holidays in Kyrenia but no way would I live there, you don't need to read the threads on this board to see North Cyprus is sinking in a sea of cement and spoiling it.

I am no idiot just have some common sense. I have enjoyed holidays there for the past 6 years I stayed for a month in December, but what I see and what I hear while there I have made a decision not to live there. I am not slagging other people off, it has been said on this board many times that some do not do their homework before purchasing and find themselves in trouble.

fire starter - got to agree with you on this. We were fortunate enough to not have any problems as such with our purchase either, but, given the time over again, I would not have bought here and would not recommend buying here to anyone else.
