For info the TRNC according to its consitution, does not extradite its own citizens unless the person concerned holds dual nationality with the country seeking extradition and that country has a recipricoal extradition arrangment with the TRNC.



Not extraditing ones own citizens is not that uncommon. France for example will not extradite French citizens.

European Arrest Warrants and extradition are two different things. France has signed up to the agreements re European Arrest Warrants. However there is no EU legislation that covers extradition, requiring member states to have a uniformed system for extradtion. Ecah state has its own laws re extradtion.
