Jock,

Some of us are trying to, but there is a problem with the forum, in that we have lost all the historical Topics until Izzet gets back from holiday.

So unless there is a new topic posted or people are interested in replying to the few they can see, then I suppose they wont.

Sorry

hi steve

thanks yes mate plan worked they all can go and get stuffed!!!! lol

i was thinking the same about plastic cups when he gave it to me!!!!

i asked the barman why the reason is because during the summer all round famagusta all the north cyprus young kids who come from north and south london come to glapsides beach and sometimes a bit of trouble breaks out, so you cant exactly hurt someone with a paper cup!!!! lol

i must admit i do hate these young kids trying to act hard they spend all their time in london thinking they something special then they come to cyprus and carry on with their attitude, girls plasterd up with make up, boys with their shorts hanging of their arse with loads of chains and rings on and this is in 35 degree heat wot plums!!!!!

One of the reasons I try not to visit high season, i get sick and tired of listening to the loud mouthed London turks sitting at the table next to me swearing and cussing and they think their sh*t dont stink.

Thats just "One" of the reasons, other than , no parking, traffic jams, crowded beaches, load music every where. etc etc.. Guess i must be getting grumpy in my old age.

Best time to visit, June and End of August after all the kids go back to school.

Simbas, I am only 21, I swear. ( believe that and you'll believe anything)

I don't like my world rocked with foul language and bad English and that awful accent.

The wind rustling through the cypress tree's or the crashing of waves , now thats my kind of noise or the hissing of the bubbles on my glass of cold beer.

We have to put up with the foul language and bad English all the time in UK.

One reason I'm leaving!

As for these yobs in Gzimagusa, the one thing we don't need are British manners being imported by these kids - I hope the police deal accordingly with them.

hi guys

it looks like ive started a whole new discussion!!!!! lol

i know its a sad sorry state of affairs when its concerning these yobs especailly when summer comes and they all flock to glapsides, salamis to name a couple, they probabley feel they have more of a right to the beach and the area because they are visting their familes who live in cyprus and they can act they want to because they are cypriots i call them part time cypriots because they spend a month or two where their familes live and they go back to london, manchester, birmingham and then they take on the role of jamicans they only know a bit of history, culture and morales but i suppose they will learn!!!! at the end of the day their are kids trying to act like adults and i suppose we were all kids at some point!!!! lol the only time ive seen police get involved is at night when they all meet up at the beach and try and hold their own parties and cause a disturbance

Can only agree, there is good and bad in every walk of life, but i hope it doesnt take off in north cyprus, that is one of the main reasons my wife and i are moving out here next month and the count down is on.

hi

jock belive you me you have nothing to worry about, this only happens in small doses in the summer when brit cypriots come together and not so much trouble more of a hinderance, and you are making the right move because the u.k especially london is going to pot with all the shootings, stabings, most of the younger genration living their lifes like it was a hollywood movie, the only thing the young generation of kids who actually live in cyprus do is buy and modify their cars and race amongest each other and what is great they still have the up most of respect for their elders, which is a rareity in the u.k

Hi Guys,

I agree with the comments about the British Turkish Cypriot youths.

The local youths I've met always seem well mannered, quiet and polite but you can tell the Brit TC's straight away, walking around as if they are real hard men, swearing and acting tough. Most of them I'm afraid seem as if they come from the London area going by their accents.

This is one thing that spoils it for me slightly when I'm on holiday.

One terrible example concerned a flight back to England a few years back. We had to divert to Istanbul because an unfortunate lady was suffering heart problems and all you could hear were these three youths F'ing and blinding because of the concerns over the lady and that we were having to divert.

I know they were only young but there was no excuse for their behaivour.

Take care,

Loby.

Uturk - what do you mean by your throwaway comment 'and then they take on the role of the jamaicans?'

Have I been wrong in thinking it was just a section of the Greek Cypriot community who are ignorant racist bigots?

Please explain.

daily

there is nothing throwaway in my comment its the way they act trying to be something they are not, the way they speak as if they were from mainland jamaica when in actual fact they are born in the u.k and are turkish cypriot origin

belive you me im far from a racist bigot i grew up among brits, turks, greeks, indians, pakistanis, jamicans and africans and you should choose you words carfully before you point a finger if you where from london you would know what i am talking about!!!!!

Jock1

I am not trying to stir - I am challenging what I perceived to be a racist slur about people who haven't even been to this island causing trouble - it was IMO, a very poor comparison to make.

Ukturk

You didn't get a reply because I have been out. Thanks for making the effort to explain - and yes, I was offended, so my reaction was perhaps too aggressive.

Apologies

like i said most of all the young cypriot turks who come over from london all speak as if they are from jamaica, which offendes me because they should not act or talk what they are not and that is what im basically saying

ukturk, I can totally relate to what you said, I basically grew up the same way in Brum, most of my friends were from Jamaica and I ended talking Patwa with them. I never forgot that way of talking and still do occasionally if I meet a Rasta man.

The sun is shining and the wind is blowing cold from the snowy mountains (yes we gets snow near Hollywood ) so its a wrap up day.

Enjoy your weekends wherever you are..
