I was wondering if you could give me some advice. I would like to bring over organic lotions, potions and makeup to sell, everything is 100% organic and not tested on animals. The company is based in the UK but distribute in 130 countries, and have a base in Nicosia on the south side, where i would get supplies. My question is, to distribute in the north do i have to register as a business and pay import taxes/or can i register as an independant distributer etc? I have emails from the company stating that i do not need this (which i can post) but i'm not completely convinced, and would appreciate some much needed advice.

yes you do and it will be expensive to set up legitimately...

you'd have to sell an awful lot to make it worthwhile.

The customs rates depends on where the goods are made. If they are made in UK or Turkey and you get an import license prior to bringing in the stuff then you pay 20%, if the good come from china then that goes up to 30%.

If you bring stuff in without getting the license first then the rates also go up.
