Recent polls of 1,000 people suggested the UBP.........what are your views on this?? Will you British expats be using your golden oppurtunity to vote? (I hope so!) CTP (REPUBLICAN TURISH PARTY) UBP (NATIONAL UNITY PARTY) TDP (Communal democracy party) DP (Demokratic party) ORP (freedom party) HIS and so on....... |

The UBP, in my opinion, will make significant changes, primarily because they favour close ties with Turkey. Although i agree that the increase of tourism was thanks to the CTP.......but is this enough? That is what im in denial about

i am a member of the UBP and i am proud of it , i think CTP has been the worst party to come to power and i hope the people will now see this and UBP will win outright

Canyavuz re msg 9 "AJ most if not all the people and expats i speak to who have a vested intrest in the TRNC want the UBP to win and see the north move closer to turkey, they see this as end to any debate about "the south greeks comming to take our properties" Hardly a surprising revelation.. but WHO are these "Greeks" you speak of... ? AH, you mean the Cypriots who own the land / property.. Could you explain to us how YOU think UBP will make any difference ?

I wouldnt agree with you the majority of ex pats want closer ties with Turkey a continuing relationship yes, but a province no. For the TRNC to prosper and move forward then they need to become part of Europe. There needs to be a setlement, the TRNC is to small to go it alone they need access to the world markets and the subsequent investment that would come with it. There are obviously some people that would wish no investment and a return to closed borders and donkeys. If the UDP kibosh the talks it will be a very retrograde step.
