I know what it's like to live in a fishbowl (spent 5 years on an island 3 x 3 (yeh, that's miles, so I know how it works). I'm tired of reading complaints, moans and groans etc etc.

Really, does anyone have anything interesting, constructive or otherwise, to say???

Yvonne

I have never had anything negative to say about the TRNC. It may be not anyones cup of tea but this is my home and having lived and worked in some 20 countries in the last 25 years I know where I would much rather be.

AJ, I must agree,

I loved Barbados ... but far too expensive since all the soap stars took over.

But TRNC is not too bad a choice either eh

That's what people don't get; this forum maybe about NC, but even so, does any one have an opinion about the rest of the world?

Out of your fish bowls, and into the world...

Yvonne, just read the recent political/election threads...... is that not interesting and thought provoking ?

There is always something new on here.

Turtle, thing is, I'm not so interested in politics, but whenever I log on here, I've gotta say: I'm bored. It's the same old, same old...

No one has anything new or interesting to say anymore...

I am done worrying about what goes on in the outside world. I have lived through some interesting times and had some interesting experiences but quite honestly nothing else concerns me in the outside world now. I know that may appear to be selfish but I am 'all played out' and with the few years I have left on this planet I intend to enjoy my life with my family and sod anyone else.

AlsancakJack,

This isn't about NC. NC is fab- why otherwise would I have bought there.

It's simply about the forum - it is so boring. No one has anything inspirational or interesting to say anymore...

Forgive me, if I'm out of order - it's just how I feel/think.

Yvonne, you must have been reading my mind. People on this board get upset when certain people post about negative things, but also moan when things get boring. I know you are not complaining about TRNC, just the negative posts.

Yvonne, you can only enjoy life and understand whats going on if the politics of life are done right and are accepted by the masses........thats life as we know it unfortunately.

Perhaps a life off the beaten track may be what your looking for.

Spider, I wish I was living there too! I love NC/TRNC. Full stop! I just wish the 'civilians' would be more positive and get out of their fish bowls...

Dearest Sienna,

That's the most beautiful poetry I've read 'off the cuff' of my beautiful Island.

Thank you so much.

The island would've been left in peace; simarily to South Africa, Africa etc. It's a 'power war'...

Yvonne,my dear...we live in the north..and yes it is devided...but things never remain the same.each day changes, and i fill my day with good things,,i dont give a hoots about, what i have,or what i dont have..or when things will sort themselves out over here..they will.....us talking about it wont make the slightes bit of diferance....i go along with changes,,pay whats needed.tax.residency,,bills, and live on a very, very, tight bubget,we have no pensions coming in either..but life is what we make it,we dont drink,or eat out.

we live a homely lifestyle,,and have made some real trusting friends here..

this Forum is a mess of debates, and insults, and again i keep myself to myself.

i have met some very nice ladys on the lunch day,great..enjouy life,xx SPIDER x

yvonne,

life in trnc is not this forum, when it is boring i do not read for a while - informations are good concerning - where to go when..... what do i have to pay... tél number or address of belediye ! most of the people living in trnc and trying to give informations to the non-residents but i know so many TC and they never complain as much as people in this board - life must be simple - it is the same all over the world - if i listen to what 's happen in france i should hang myself because there is no hope for the young generation, unemployment, closing factories.... but NO i refuse to put my head into the sand and when i do not like something eather i fight for it, eather i don't care ad go away from it - boring people, boring country is everywhere ! just try to be as positive as possible -

Yvonne - Mess 1

I think the majority of gripes are to do with the construction industry - Many Brits have been lied and cheated by builders and these boards allow folk to air their day to day highs and lows of their lives in the TRNC - if the typical builder over here acted like say "Bovis" in the UK (ie built the house on time, to a good standard, sorted mains services, cleaned up after tham selves and transferred the deeds), i'm sure the flavour of postings would be radically different.

Yvonne,

For us this is a great place to retire to, you can do what you want when you want. This am it is chilly, AGAIN!! LOL So other half decided to stay in bed to finish reading her current book from the local library.

With all the rain the countryside has coloured and is quite beautiful. Again one of the pleasures is to watch the changing seasons.

Travelling is still our hobby although on hold while waiting for our building site to be finished - only 3 years!!!! If you want adventure our last one was exploring Alaska, no not a cruise, prior to that Namibia and Zimbabwe, Peru, Australia, Borneo.... Done Bungee Jumping at Victoria Falls, white water rafting in Oz. Been in 3 seat helicopter (no doors) planes from 4 seat Sesna, float planes, through to 747.

How is that for some early morning excitment!!

Know what you mean with forums though they end up stick in a loop like this one now is. People join, get bored with the ****, move on and some more join etc. Same again!!

perhaps not Bovis then, what about Briants ?

At least Bovis get everyone connected to the mains and hand the deeds over on completion and you get an NHBC 10 year guarantee.

They can also build a house in about 6 weeks !

As Negative Nick says the majority of people have invested their hard earned money here and have been cheated by the builders, advocates, legal system in general and the government. These people are now getting more and more desperate as they can now see no light at the end of the property nightmare tunnel. They only see their dreams being washed away daily.
