Me, Lady B and the Mongsters are off this morning to Florida for a month as the Mongsters are thinking of moving there, dogs in the kennels, cases packed, just waiting for the taxi to arrive.



Keep up the good work and see you all when we get back.

Sorry to post something negative but we have been to Florida twice ,travelling all round the state for 3 weeks. We were diappointed the first time, but thought we would give it another try. The second time convinced us we would not go again.



It was so humid we had to run from the car to the apartment. We were not able to walk anywhere because there did not seem to be any safe footpaths. All the shopping malls were a clone of each other. I have never seen so many fat people in my life, probably due to the type of food that is served up in the restaurants. Huge portions of junk type food.



The theme parks were OK but you can only go so many times.



The best bit was the drive to Key West. However unfortunately my son got food poisoning. We also enjoyed the Everglades but the mosquitos were horrendous. We were bitten to pieces.



I hope Nick finds more positives than us. We all cheered when the plane took off from Orlando including our teenage son.

Sheila - just out of curiosity, which route are you using - via Istanbul, Heathrow .......? Which part of Thailand are to going to to visit your family? I'm really just being nosy here and I hope you have a wonderful time (which I'm sure you will)



Don't worry about the long flight - it will be well worth it!!

I am going via Ercan to Istanbul then get off and go through Internal Transit still with Turkish Airlines and straight to Bangkok, my family live in Pattaya.

Its better than when my son went from Larnaca as he had to go to Dubai then to Bangkok but had a long wait at Dubai.
