Is there anyone who can spare some time to help KAR urgently with their office computers ? They have a small (3 computers) office group that was working fine until yesterday - then only 1 can access internet and none can share the generic files/documents (seems they have lost their link to each other). They have checked with their IP and it definately is not a connection problem - it is their office network link/interaction. They are really stuck without their computers as they cannot send/receive emails/ respond to Q's /take on line reports etc from the 1 that does have internet connection.

Is there anyone out there who could help them sort the problem out. If so could you please ring 0533 8694098. Thanks

every computer have a system restore dates. go to start, all programs, accessories, system tools, system restore. it will show a list of dates click on the latest and the computer will restore to that date settings.that should fix the problem.

That is ok in theory but they could end up losing any changes/installed software since the last restore date. Unless you actively manage your restore points then you can cause more problems than you are trying to fix.

if their computer show yesterday or the day before as a system restore point they may not have install any new soft/hardware and if they have it's very likely that the new install program it is the one that created the problem

Just for info the issue was a hub/switch that got 'confused / locked' after a power failure. It just need to be unplugged from the power and replugged again and all was fine. None of the solutions involving restoring from previous restore points would have made any difference in this case ;)
