DO WE HAVE A LOCAL FOOTBALL TEAM?



IF NOT WHAT IS THE CLOSEST AND WHAT LEVEL DO THEY PLAY?

There are several football stadiums in the north and you can find out the details of the league by checking wikipedia.i watched the end of a game at xmas at the girne stadium and their were a couple of hundred fans supporting the home side and at least a coach load from the visitors(famagusta)i think.the standard is about ryman league or below.the fans were very excitable though and really get behind their teams

hope this helps i shall be supporting girne when i move out later this year

welcome to the forum and congrats on you moving to ozankoy,

ozankoy has not got a football team that is in the 1st division, but there are a couple of team close to you who you can support first is düzkaya spor they are based in catalkoy which is probabley your nearest club, then their is lapta spor,

and the last one on the girne side is talisu spor who got promoted from the second division

my two clubs who i support because my firends play in them are yeni boğazçi and mağusa türk gücü club which are one of the most succesfull clubs in north cyprus, the standard of the football is quite good and i would compare it to low divison or conference league, even thou the national side are the world fifi cup champions won in germany, fifi being being a sub federation for non fifa affiliated nations
