Hippo spots the Guido's publicity machine at full throtle again Good morning Hippo, i double checked and i noticed andysue started the post so can you tell me how on hell did you worked that out? do you ever spot the old mill, the waterfront, the jessic, the grumpy ect. publicity machines or you just picking on my wife? if you have a PROBLEM with my wife answering people or potential customer then talk TO ME and it will be my pleasure to put you straight anytime you want. In Italy we respect and PROTECT our women. regards GUIDO

Guido's is by far the most expensive-recycled South Cyprus goods at extorinate prices-(you dont think you where going to get away with it did you lilli) but it does save you the hastle of a cease fire line crossing Hello Hippo, one of the rules of this forum is to avoid personal attaks on individuals and guess what you done it again!!! i am sick of you attaking my restaurant/delicatessen. come to my place, try my food (i have being serving people all over the world and i never had a complain) and after you can judge or comment. I dont know if i ever met you but it looks like you know me and my wife. Introduce your self to me next time you come to GUIDO'S.

Guido's I don't understand the problem. If people don't like Guido's leave them in peace. I only shopped there once and was stunned by the price. Now, if I want some pate or salami or whatever I just get it direct from the supermarket when I am in the south. It's not really an issue, just a question of choice, so no point in knocking them for providing a service. No reason why they shouldn't charge for shopping in the south for you.

hi Anthony i understand your concern but as you know we do suplpy french italian swiss and dutch cheeses as well as the meats. This is secondary to the bistro which im sure you will agree is good vaule for money. The deli is only a service but our customers can come in fo a plate of cheese or parma ham and salamis etc to go with thier lobster or steak or pasta. We use an Italian importer for the food and wines. And the Oysters Lobsers etc are flown in fresh. Our veg comes from Holland and these are just to accompy the meal. we go to great lenghts to ensure not only the best that we can source but enjoyment of good food and great wines. Of course we know you can go to a suprmarket south and buy a packet of parma or salami but we cut it to your taste and when you calulate al this it actually costs you more money. Parma ham soth in a packet costs you 6 euro 50 for 120 gms we charge 10tl. so maybe yu will see the difference. its all about choice. We try to provide a service and for our cu

Lilli I'm confused/ you posted message 16 on this thread and then on another thread about shopping in the South: http://www.cyprus44.com/forums/10755.asp message 6 we have to go as our products cannont be sourced here particulary good italian and french wines and the fresh herbs. Also the cheese has to be imported as do the fresh lobster scallops etc. Only once I have experiences rudness. In fact in the supermarkets if they dont stock any of the italian procudts that we require they will endeavour to obtain them for us and they call us once they have them.Batterboy I think that they are also feeling the credit crunch like elsewhere hence he long faces. However I must agree that like elsewhere since the euro prices have doubled. We try to get as much as we can here but its not always fresh or easy.

Just had sunday lunch at Guidos for the first time and have to say it is much better than my usual haunts. The meat wasn't fatty, the gravy wasn't just Bisto and hot water, Potatoes were just like mums and veggies were good too. Not the cheapest but cheap is never good. Value for money is more important. Welcoming hospitality and fun people.....cool! Lilli/Guido. Thank you and im glad you liked Bear!
