Just shows those that didn't know, how much of a clown Gordon Brown is, and what a waste of time the labour government are.

Add to that a similar link being played and replayed on US tv most of last week, asking the American people why haven't we (the US) got a politicians like Daniel Hannan who are prepared to speak out against Obama and his enforced endebtment of the Ameriacn people and their children's children? Do you think the message is getting through http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mc9TVlzdEsc&feature=related Regards Joseph

Well all you know all politicians lets have your Ideas and fixes on how toget out of thisGLOBAL mess.Brown did not start this mess but he sure is getting blamed for it all.He is now being hammered as to why he did not bail out the Hamilton BS.Perhaps the Board of directors could explain, little heard from them and their necks and jobs have just been saved buy Nationwide.Tell me how a BS with an annual turnover Of£5million can loose £26million?? so come on youFinancial whizz kids answers please..

| Great Speech by Hanan, Although the global downturn cannot be totally blammed on gormless Gord, while his hands were on the purse strings, he failed as Hanan rightfully said to caulk the ship in the good times leaving a sinking and battered hull to endure the storms. Gold reserves sold off, an unaffordable welfare state, a growing overpaid public sector, all seeds that will slow recovery from this recession. The unelected PM will leave a leggacy that will take generations to repay, he no longer has any respect from the people and is looked upon as a joke on the world stage. God help us, can only hope from the ashes of Labours destruction, the green shoots of recovery are overseen by a miracle man with a big shovel to dig us out of the crap we are in, and he will be digging for many years . | Coachie Here's my 'Two-Pennorth'! Re the Dunfermline figures, it's quite easy. The £5m t/o is from the p/l (Profit & loss Account of annual trading). The £26m 'loss' is from the Balance Sheet Accounts. For example, I lend you £1m, you pay me back £20k pa. You give me the deeds of your property or other assets which you say are worth £1.5m. I borrow £1m against the assets to fund my business. I feel safe, you feel safe. I have Turnover of £20k on my P/L account, less my borrowing costs and assets of £1.5m on my balance Sheet. You go bust, stop paying me, I then find my £1.5m Assets are actually only worth say £750K. My T/O from you is zero, my debts are now £750k. I'm sure any Accountants out there could explain it better! Rob |

Robnjo..So bad accounting by thebosses then,so why is Brown getting hammered for not bailing them out.According to his accountants they required nearly £110million to putthem back on their feet but their annual t/o is only about £5million on agood year,so they would have struggled to pay back the interest never mind the capital.Who says he doesnt know what he is doing ,sound economics to me..

Coachie It was actually 'Good Practice' as being used by most Financial Institutions over the years within the 'soft touch' fiscal regulations brought in initially by the Tories, but being dramatically extended by the Chancellor of the last 10 years. The P/L account is obviously being sold off to Nationwide, while the dodgy Balance sheet items are being 'guaranteed' by the Government. i.e. Us!,.... Again! I agree his decision is currently sound, but he has had 10 yrs in No11, during which time he didn't show much 'Prudence' in regulation! He will have no option but to recoup all these 'Dodgy' or 'Sub Prime' guarantees off you, me and our children for many, many years to come! Vince Cable for Chancellor!! Rob

Coachie my friend you really do have to get a grip of yourself. If this Govenment had run this country as well as it said it has then we would not have had to BORROW as much as we have. Simple economics my friend dont spend more than you earn. The Labour govenment do just this time and time again, they take us to the brink of bankruptcy every time they are in power. Over the last 10 years they have banked zillions of squids.....but what have they done with it.......................... please answer this.

Giving a Labour Government money is like trying to carry water in a colander, although historically i have to say i have made more money under the inept Labour governments due to crippling inflation, however they have exceeded themselves ths time by not even achieving that ,mind you its probably the only thing they havent fooked up......havent voted for 25 yrs however read the BNP leaflet the other day and it makes interesting reading ....mmmmmmm.. then again who wants to takeover and run Europes biggest Debtpile............. Can just see Brownie chasin Blair all over his back yard in the US of A shoutin" you fookin stitched me up bigtime dintya ,now find me a job on the retirement gravytrain"

Turtle ..90% of the population in this country spend more than they earn. Businesses borrow money on the same basis. If they didnt they would collapse inside a month. He has made some mistakes but he is not to blame for everything that has gone wrong,as for Bachibelly "I have" made more money under this inept government" says it all. I bet you were laughing all the way to the bank with your ill gotten gains but now things are not going your wayandyou are probably loosing those gains you dont like it,tough.Wher do you get this "crippling " inflation from, its been at its lowest for years under Brown &Co.You people make sick at times, all you want is more money in your pocketand when you dont get it blame the LabourGovernment. You have to expectthat there are bad times as well as good, but according you whingers there have never been any good times..The population of this country must have thought they were doing something right to vote them in for a third term.Tories will last one term

Just got our UKIP Euro election campaign ad through the door . " The UKIP is the only non racist and mainstream party that agrees with the majority of the British people. Our independent and democratic nation is now in peril . " WHAT a load of tosh.. UKIP = BNP ( they are just slightly more realistic) The UKIP know that *if* the UK left the EU, they *could* cease complying with EU Directives and send back EU migrants.. Naturally the EU won't mind this and will of course agree to the UK having it's protectionist cake and eating it ... NOT... "with jobs at risk here we must regain control of our borders from the EU" .. Yeah right, let's send the Irish back home.. ;) .. WHO wrote this tripe.. ? Knee-jerk, insular, protectionism is "just" what economies need.. NOT.. Vote UKIP / BNP... and non of the EU countries will respond and send UK expats home in "retaliation"..
