Took the "good lady" to see Cirque de Glace on Saturday evening.. she's been following the Russian equiv of Dancing on Ice, and I though - what the heck.. it'll please her and MIGHT be "interesting"..

Hi mmmmmm My wife is Russian too, she loves the Dancing on ice shows, theatre, concerts, ballet etc certainly brought some culture into my life the past seven years having lived and worked in various FSU countries and lots of parts of Russia. Oh and yes the talent... is great.

I had no preconceptions before I went and couldn't believe they could wizz around such a tight stage and perform tricks that would have ITV audiences in raptures...





Have you access to the Russian First Channel - and their programme "Ice Age"?



It's the one Russian prog I don't like to miss !

Prevyet mmmmmm i tvoy jenna toja prevyet, of course I meant as in expertise, got over the other meaning long ago as I spent a lot of time in Russia and FSU since 92.

It seems the Russians have a wealth of talent when it comes to the performing arts as do the Chinese.

I can not say I have seen that channel but then I am not a great tv fan but I will try and check it out.

At the mo I am in the UK just been doing more training attending the odd workshop and conference and finally got a professional chartered membership, means a lot to me at my age not having the benefits of a uni education.

My wife is currently at our place in Almetevsk, Tatarstan I will ask her to flick through the channels to see if we can get it just out of interest.

Will need to get some Ruskie TV channels set up for her at the pad in Alsancak though.

IF she can get Russian Channels - she will know Pirvy Kanal - the First channel - and you can get it for nought on a 1m dish in Cyprus - no subs- along with about 8 other relatively interesting - for a Russian - channels

she will definately need Russian channels as she goes a bit off it after a while with no Russian TV or interaction/conversation with Russian natives, my Russian gets me by but not really good conversational Russian.

Having purchased an appartment (more space in it than most villas we saw) we will probably need to stick to a smaller dish and simple system, like to live within our means but also legally. S I may be asking you some quiestions when we get back out there on what I need etc. Must get her Russian Channels I need but a few, I can probably see all I need to online or nilesat.
