I have noticed there seems to be quite a few postings re Lost/Found dogs recently. I am not sure if forum membes are aware but KAR do have a Lost/Found file that is checked whenever they receive a report about a Lost/Found dog. Obviously the more details that you can give (size/colour/condition/collar/location etc) the better enabled they will be to see if they can reunite dog and owner.They cannot, generally, take in at the Centre (much as they would like to !) Lost/Found dogs due to resources/space/legal regulations. Also please remember the dogs with red tags in their ears are not lost - they are registered community dogs. The tel no to report Lost/Found dogs is not the emergency line but the office line (Mon - Fri 9 -1.00 and 2.00 - 5.00).

KAR would like to see ALL pet dogs with ID (name/tel no) discs on their collars - as is normal in UK - it does make things much easier. I think there have been threads recently about where to buy the ID discs.

is all so sad . I find dogs each and every day all be strays but yesterday i found a beautifl animal with a collar n but when i went to feed him he ran away. I beleive he or she was lost. I will go tommorow to try to locate it and ring the numbers xxxxxxx

hi all no where near the restaurant but Lem they sem to find me. I cant pass a strat and I always carry food and water and bowls. God Im lke Mother Theresa of Cyprus. I was A glamour girl years ago now I find all the strays here but im happy to give them some sort of life. I have missed my vocation I think. to my friend Lem How are you xxxxxx

Hi!

I told Kar about all the stray cats here in Doğanköy but they still seem to be here, hanging around the rubbish bins and miawing all night keeping me awake, it is very sad...I find the stray dogs around really scary, they follow you, bark and chase you and have an evil look in their eyes, I never saw so many stray dogs and cats around before coming to Turkey and then Northern Cyprus...

There has been a lovely Golden Retriever dumped in Ilgaz with a bag of its toys it has been here over a week now has a collar on is very friendly but we already have a dog so if anyone wants it or knows who owned it!! please call Jacqui 05338423518

yes KAR do have microchip readers (as does Firdez and Sibel - 2 vets here).

Every day a stray goes past my office in Alsancak. A little strange looking dog colour grey with a pointy face, black collar anybody lost it please let me know it's running around here.

I saw a beautiful black retriever like dog going down the side road of Ataturk Square in Karsiyaka. I couldn't see if he had a collar on but looked in very good condition, if anyone has lost a dog like that.
