Hello Lilli, can you tell me if there are any shops that sell fromage frais (the low cal type if poss) in NC or if not is there is an alternative/same as product sold locally, or will I have to bring it with me/get it from the South? Many thanks.... in advance Mrs P x

Hi Mrs P we have been trying in vain to get it without any success. We had some in recently but once we got it in we didnt have the demand for it. That was brought from UK. Our supplier is trying to get the low cal one so if I get some good news I will let you know. Take care Lilli xx

Thankyou Lilli for your swift reply. It's not a problem I can bring some with me in my cool bag as I usually do, but last time the tub burst,,, as you can imagine it was a bit of a mess in there and Mr P wasn't so pleased with fromage frais covered kippers! I'll make sure I pack it well this time. Thanks again Mrs P x p.s. if you do get some in anytime and I happen to be there I will def have a tub or two.

Good on you Mrs P, If you want kippers and fromage frais while you are here then I applaud you for having the foresight to bring them with you. I live abroad (in the far east) and each time I return after being in the UK the contents of my case resembles a shopping trolley, I also bring certain items with me each time I come to Cyprus, though I must admit that kippers are not one of the items, nor is fromage frais. Keep it up Mrs P. Regards, Alex.

reply to DD, HQ and CyG, give your trotters a rest from the keyboard and keep your snouts out, wind your necks in and stop cyber rubbernecking, oh and lighten up a bit. If your opinions counted they might bother me but as it happens - - - they dont count ergo they dont bother me. Only good replies to me in future, thanks very much

good for you mrsp they all want to bring people down. Roll on the day when there are more of a mixture of irish welsh scottish people here to correct the balance. The celts do not take themselves seriously but the winging brits here makes your blood boil. Let them go back to big brother country. grief for poor Jade and go back to benefits. Start a thread and some sod will ruin it

Lilli I know it's confusing but the Irish, Welsh and Scots are Celts and the Welsh and Scots are Brits. That is why the UK is The United Kingdom of Great Britain (England, Wales and Scotland) and Northern Island. Though of course the Northern Ireland protestants are mainly of Scottish descent. To make it even more confusing the vast majority "Irish" were descended from the English settlers, most of the Irish having gone abroad to escape the potato famine etc. Indeed, as in the USA those demanding independance in Ireland were not the native Irish but the English settlers because of the unfair system of parliamentary representation. Boring as this may be I thought it would be helpful for you when you abuse the English. Sadly for you we have been abused by experts for centuries and are quite immune to it. I, by the way, am English with two Irish Grandparents and two Scottish grandparents so could give a hoot who you abuse for their nationality.

Hi HQ i didnt wish to offend anybody really but it seems that the brits are leaving themselves open at the moment. Thank you for the history being Irish myself and as you say people went to the USA I had no one to ask about the famine etc. I do know however that we are 7th generation Irish many from the varoius families went across the pond. You by your hertitage are very lucky indeed. History is a wonderful thing and I wish I had your insight to it. You are not boring by any standard I find your posts very informative. Take care HQ. sorry but I cant spell and its a long name

Lilli - don't let them get to you. For God's sake, anyone who uses a profile photograph featuring Sharon Osborne has got to be a bit suspect, surely? Incidentally, we bring cheese, bacon, etc. out with us in a coolbag - didn't realise it was "against the rules" - and have done for years. As my grandmother was born in Cork, no sure where that leaves me in the scheme things!! Love J xxxxxxxxx
