| as the shadows lengthen on the talks, isolations and political/legal manoevers increase poverty and may yet become even harsher still tactically south cyprus and its oddball sympathisers on '44 must be pleased: the local property market is in the doldrums and several high profile compensation claims may/may not make life more complicated for eu buyers the south has succeeded too in its tactic of isolating turkey , making it harder to leap the barriers of an already formidable opposition from certain countries to turkey joining the eu in our lifetimes strategically it a different story turkey remains as fearsome now as it was in the 1970's decades of sanctions from the south have indirectly helped pump the new-cypriot population of the north, so that turkey cannot now abandon the island even if it wanted to this is why our critics resort to mailings about churches, the orams... and dream unless it compromises, the south will be up against a brick wall forever |

| Bill - not only Juliet, Spider cracks me up, trying to decipher the messages. Not sure exactly what year was being referred to - any ideas??? I like a challenge, me. PS We've bought another 3 properties on the back of what you've been telling us - bank wants to know whether you'll act as Guarantor?? I can foresee no problems personally, but would be good to receive your confirmation. Look forward to hearing from you re: above. NB Dateline for guarantee midday 01.04.09 so get a wriggle on!! | The estate agents here are literally booming. It's like the good old days. The Guarantee by the Deputy Prime Minister has completely transformed the trnc. One things for certain though, I will not be smug towards Juliet and all the m's. They are putting up a good fight but the reality for them is that it us a lost cause. It doesn't work anymore. Still the banter was good while it lasted. Perhaps they can come up with something else to try and frighten us all. Have agreat evening Jean and Paul, safe in the knowledge that we have the Guarantee. |

| bill, the point I was making was that they and their ilk have exceeded some of their wildest dreams in every way to clobber the north and its supporters... in every way except one: they will never recover north cyprus it is not for me to comment on the breadth of their knowledge but clearly their real depth of understanding is pitifully shallow why? because when you do "denial" you dare not face this truth: that all the eu's horses and all the un's men can never put humpty together again! strangely the answer lies with the republic of cyprus itself: because should they ever find the courage to compromise I'm sure the trnc will meet them more than half way until that day it's a case of dogs in mangers, and control freakery: "we control the vertical we control the horizontal we control the airspace" and for all the rhetoric gushing like a lanced boil not a single one of their "fairweather friends" will ever risk bodybags coming back on their behalf |

| Lilli Having watched some of your postings that seem to have typing problems. Would you like me to bring you out a new keyboard when I come out in July? The best value ones are £3.45 in Tesco's. Lem |
