Why Talisker?

Try the Turkish stuff. After the 3rd bottle it all tastes the same.

As a matter of interest, does anyone know what import duties would be levied on importing spirits? I'm not resident on TRNC yet but I'm happy to ship it, if you want to buy it

I'd be very careful about spending lots of money on wine or spirits in tempo. The local stuff is fine but I recently shelled out for a bottle of "petit chablis" as a treat. I have no idea where they had stored it before it got onto the shelf but wine was possibly the most disgusting stuff I have encountered in a very long time. It was like mud - that is no exaggeration.

I'm not trying to have a go at Tempo as I am generally a happy regular customer, but I've had a few bad experiences with non-local supermarket bought booze here and so I am very careful what I buy now and where I buy it from.

John at Cape Wines in Catalkoy might be able to help you in your whisky search. He imports stuff and knows what he is doing!
