Border Insurance Kiosk (North) Opening times

Bringing hire car over from Larnaca will arrive at Metahan at about 2am will the insurance kiosk be open at this time? if not what can be sorted before arrival to enter North in hire vehicle regarding insurance or is it a case of waiting until following morning. Thanks for any info.

Hi DN, I'd dare you to refer to "border" when you come to collect the car at LCA ;)



I have faxed the "north's" insurance co with the RoC reg and vehicle spec and they had a copy waiting for me at the "TRNC" .. I called a TR mobile number before I crossed the green line and someone appeared with my cover note..



Your prob, I guess is knowing what car you'll be given by the "rump" RoC rental company



So I did it - it CAN be done- but I knew the vehicle details three days before..

DN I think you'll have a long wait at the crossing unless you can arrange what Mark did regarding car details. We have done this before and on one occasion arrived at crossing at around 5.00am. They made a phone call and the insurance chap appeared around half an hour later and there was no problem at all. Mind you, he may not appear quite so promptly at around 3.00 - 3.30am!

Thanks for info folks, arrived Metahan 4am, Insurance chap was contacted by police and arrived 10mins later, done dusted on my way within 20 mins. Luv it when a plan comes together.

mmmmm you said you have faxed the north's insurance co, do you have their contact telephone no. or fax number please so i can try and do the same, our flight arrives into larnaca at 4.25 and we will need to arrange insurance to come into the north. Thanks.

I used to live in Limas(s)ol until Late Aug 08 and crossed the Green line regularly, so had annual "TRNC" cover..



When we moved back to the UK I didn't keep the north side's guys tel no :(



Surely SOMEONE here has a contact in the insurance game ?
