You have got it in one Paul.

The ball is in Turkey's court. Just hope the players with the required goal scoring skills do what is required.

Mark

Ref your message no:6

Do you really think that Turkey now wants to be part of the EU? If you can prove to me that Turkey are going all out for EU membership then I will buy you a beer. The indications I have are that despite America 'introducing' them to the club both America and Turkey are now reviewing other options. And I am sure you know what that means. Oh did I mention the OIC. Do a bit of research and be seriously worried.

You dont have to be a rocket scientist to see that the talks are over. The blame culture from both sides continues.Turkey in my opinion know the best option(s)

and it doesnt involve re-unification,

Pleased to see you are DOING some research, AJ.. Why would *I* be "worried" .. ?!

... I'm not Mr Erdogan or Gul and in charge of a country needing a BIG loan from the IMF , some of which might be to prop up a tiny "nation" .... I'll bet the IMF will have some say in how their dosh get's spent ;)

The Euro will get weaker and weaker over the next few months. There will be major problems with all the countries that have the Euro. The strongest currencies over the coming years will be the £, the $ and the Yen.

Turkey don't need Europe.

All the m's is fighting a losing battle. Juliet has already left the building. It's a shame I liked them both. I'm going to let them stay in one of my safe houses for free.

By the way if you have done your research then you will know that if Turkey does ever avail themselves of an IMF loan then it will be done under their terms. But I am sure you are already aware of the situation re Turkey and the IMF.

'I'm "hurt" does the previous offer of a beer now resting on proving an intangible ? ;)'

Don't worry I will always buy you a beer.

'Organisation of the Islamic Conference ? ... a "smart" TR would be in both...'

Why?

'Pleased to see you are DOING some research, AJ.. Why would *I* be "worried" .. ?!'

You obviously have not done your research.

... I'm not Mr Erdogan or Gul and in charge of a country needing a BIG loan from the IMF , some of which might be to prop up a tiny "nation" .... I'll bet the IMF will have some say in how their dosh get's spent ;)

Again do your research, if and when Turkey call on the IMF for a loan it will be done on their terms.

'Who can give "guarantees" if they need to borrow the rent money ? '

Do not understand that statement and bears no relevance to the above questions and answers.

Its not only the cyprus issue stopping Turkey getting in the EU, it is there lack of human rights issues, Turkey want to join the EU but they dont want to change there backward thinking.

Dear AJ, re msg 28

If you THINK I'm not well-versed / researched as to the OIC, please tell us why ! It is a subjective statement you made.

"if and when Turkey call on the IMF for a loan it will be done on their terms. "

I'm sorry, AJ, but countries in a financial mess don't dictate terms..

The "rent" reference was concerning the money required to be sent to keep "TRNC" in it's surreality - unsustainable - and we both know it.

Turkey does not appear to be a country in a financial mess, desperate for an IMF loan.

The recent IMF loan proposals were rejected by Turkey. The IMF are currently proposing much more amenable terms for any loan.

Turkey appear to have the 'whip-hand' here. One piece at:
