I thought I would post this - in the Mail on Sunday You mag today they are offering special offer deals to Northern Cyprus link up with Green Island Holidays, in conjunction with the Mail. At least TRNC is getting recognised as a holiday destination by one national paper - usually they host the advertisements for TRNC only, but I thought this was, in some way, a step in the right direction.

Let's be positive - it was only a couple of years ago that Greater London Assembly Man Brian Coleman was getting the adverts of the london buses and that discriminatory practice had to change; so when I see a paper promoting a particular holiday line at a special price, when it only used to carry postage stamp size ads for TRNC then it is some step forward - better than two steps back.

I agree bondi....a step in the right direction.

However the TRNC must really up their game and improve infrastructure and facilities, otherwise for many tourists it will be their first and last trip.

At least in the advert they promoted the "Euro free Zone" - surely a positive thing - although they were also advertising a very good offer in Bodrum. Still, every little helps.

Everything helps and particuary if they are promoting Eurozone. This week I have see more red plated cars than I have in a long time. We are all hoping o see an influx this week. I only hop the hoteliers etc here get thier act together and welcome what could be a great opportunity. xxx

Hopefully it will be a better year for tourism! Coming out at the beginning of May with an armful of Daily Mail DVDs - Patterson, Reichs and Connolly books for Lamboussa - out of hibernation and my straw box to warmer climes - I can't wait it has been so damned cold again this winter.

Hopefully we shall see some full flights arriving this summer!
