I ask because *I* can't understand how he is any more "rude" than some posters on here who haven't got the first clue about CY history / politics / etc.



IF it is Pikey, he'll know I don't agree with his style sometimes - but recently, *I* seem to be replacing him as the "enemy" and sometimes *I* let it get to me....



Seems to me that you let him get to you... so he's "won" .. is he saying something you don't want to hear - that makes you feel uncomfortable?



I'm trying to understand..



Making a big fuss comes to mind to me -we are supposed to be adults, right ?

dryboak, that goes back several years. Have not seen him post using the name recently.



As far as I am concerned ******** has to keep changing his name because others get him banned because they disagree with his point of view. It would be a sad world if there was only one side to an argument. The issue to me is that "he" is almost a lone voice and he has to use stronger language because "you" are not prepared to accept there are 2 sides.



As MM states "he" has had a home here for more years than probably everyone else on this forum and "he" lived here permanently for a few years again more than many on this forum do.



For the 5 years on these forums I have learnt the best approach is to not get involved in the discussions on politics because I simply do not know enough of the background. Also to argue with a journalist that worked here full time for around 2 years (I think) plus still comes here to do research you are on a loser.

He was banned way back as pike and should have accepted it. He has come back in many names and has been banned over and over again. Izzet does not want him on this forum and says he is using/ has access to computers and he will keep deleting him and his messages in the hope he will realise he is wasting hours of his life and wearing out his two little digits !



Whatever his real name is...he is a liar as he said he has never been banned!!



No doubt I will get some grief from his vampirettes for telling the truth.....Like nosfuratu...he will be back! ........how sad this person is.

I consider it sadder to get so hung up about an individual as to mount a hate campaign to get him banned.



Pike's views are unambiguous and long held.

He tells it how he sees it.

He has a wealth of experience in Cyprus and has researched the subject to the point of obsession.



I don't always agree with him...but that is not to say I don't welcome his input so that I can make an informed choice.



I have taken issue with him in the past about his perceived inherent bias,and also his oft confrontational style,but this should not detract from any validity in his message...even if it is not what people want to hear!



This witch hunt is a complete waste of time and self-defeating....Pike is intelligent and resourceful enough to keep getting back on here ad-infinitum.

Cronos- I couldn't agree more. I like many feel that the man takes a very one sided view of things. The question has to be; was he been banned for breaking rules of the forum, or for saying what people don't want to hear? If it is for the former, then he should be banned or suspended [like Wynyardman seems to perpetually achieve after a glass or two of vino collapso], but if it is the latter then he shouldn't.



I find it a little sad that he doesn't seem to have much else to do; having said what he wants to say, that should be an end to the matter, albeit with occasional reminders to let us know he's still around!!!

After you read this, I will have no more to say on the matter of the "banned" person and will not be writing about it any more. Just to get one thing straight, I do NOT hate anyone, I dislike this person for remarks made about people he feels are beneath his alleged well educated self and the broken record propaganda on the TRNC.

Pike/Scribes/Macha/Cyclad, whatever, IS entitled to his opinion, I don't think many would argue with that, what he is not entitled to do is to call people thieves, scum, trailer trash and the like because they don't share his opinion.

Perhaps if he could stick more to his subject rather than attacking people in an offensive and aggressive manner he may find other members slightly more willing to listen to his side of the argument.

As for him being banned, what is the point, he will find his way back albeit by breaking the rules of the forum, it's simple, if he gets to you then just don't read his posts or respond to them.
