Pinkchilli.....there are hundreds of books and articles already out there purporting to tell the truth. This new book will be interesting to those who still have an open mind....but for those whose opinions are already firmly entrenched it will make no difference at all. "this is my truth , tell me yours "

Dear PC, re msg 1 I think your heading doesn't do you any favours..may be you didn't MEAN it to sound like it is aimed purely at GCs WHY? 1/ I haven't read this book, yet. Have you? May be some of the contributors deal with atrocities carried out by all the players involved ? 2/ Don't you think that this is a good thing? 3/ the fact that it is covered by the biggest Engish lang newspaper in CY - no attempt to cover up or silence and you found it.. I'm sure many of us will try to obtain a copy. If anyone can find the ISBN for this publication - that would be good !

Hi Mark My heading: "Maybe some GC's will not like to read the truth" was MY interpretation as to the way the meeting went. It mentioned that it was mainly elderly GC's in the audience and the "tone" of the article, IMO, appeared to upset some of the audience. Perhaps, this had nothing to do with the book! I believe that, with the little reading that I have done, but growing up with my two best friends, one who is a TC and the other a GC (who were also each others best friends and both who were unable to continue to live in cyprus), I can form an opinion based upon many years of unbiased experience. I feel that "wrongs" have been committed by both sides, as well as some outsiders. I also feel that the TC's are more aware of all the truth, as compared to the GC's. I read recently that a survey was carried out by GC's and 70% + were not even aware of events prior to '74. I can only state my opinions. I cannot give "proof" of them. (Continued)...

(Continued)... In answer to your other questions: 1. No, I haven't read the book either, but I will. I'm sure your comment "May be some of the contributors deal with atrocities carried out by all the players involved ?" is true. 2. Definitely. 3. This is not a question, but I take your point. It's publicity. The meeting had attendees, the meeting WAS reported, as you say. However, this was, again, as you say "covered by the biggest Engish lang newspaper in CY", will it be covered in a non-English speaking paper, in CY with the same unbiased level? Regards PC.
