I think that 'proper' sail cloth is fantastically expensive, but Hay Hay Fabrics in Karakum (LHS when heading out of town) have some good heavy duty material used for pergolas etc.

Would recommend taking it down for the Winter though...

Keith.

I used to work in an office at Esentepe and can tell you gates that we stopped using your company Bracey to do jobs because you wanted an extra 16 percent on top if you had to give a fatura, so you should not try and claim the moral high ground, and if you look at some of the sailcloth you fitted just over 8 months ago it is all mouldy and the pins it is fixed with are all rusting, I have now left the company so have no axe to grind either way

Hi - Mark's telephone number is in fact 0533 848 3699. The canvass is imported from Austria, has a 10 year no-fade, no-rot guarantee, it has been treated for mildew, algae and mould fungus, is waterproof, has a TEXguard finish to make it soil repellent, and gives an 80 minute protection against UV rays. It's not cheap, but it's an alternative for those who want something that will last. It also comes in a range of colours.

I can assure you real sailcloth cannot be purchased here in the TRNC. Heavy duty canvas can be found. I have been using real sailcloth for donkey's years for our sailing dinghies, and it all has to come from UK. You can get the real stuff from Turkey, but it really is not suitable for pergolas. As Keith said in a previous post, it should be removed before the first rain of Autumn, and put back up in May if you want it to last longer. Most canvas purchased here does not have a long life and rots and tears easily. I have plenty of experience of having boat covers made here over the last 25 years before anyone cares to shoot me down in flames.

Hello peeps,

it once again seems as if somebody has there wires crossed gates mess 17 are you saying glenco were wrong to ask for a fatura are you saying it was glenco who mess 16 was meaning surely not you being a fully legal company should issue a fatura as a matter of course but where did any body except you mention glenco and you were the one earlier that was saying something about slander mess 12 if i was you i would be very careful and this also makes your mess 11 hipocritical, if you are a fully legal company and you bang on about it on here all the time you should tell evrybody that kdv is payable at the going rate and pay your kdv to the goverment then you will be a fully legal company

Bridie i think sailcloth is not a trade name but is used to describe canvas used for pergolas etc and has been for years we used it in Australia 20 odd yrs ago for our pergola & it was called sailcloth even then, but the quality is much better now lol

So, how much is this canvas/sail cloth - with or without KDV from a legal/illegal company or a phone number contact or whatever.

I want to put some heavy duty material (lets just call it thick cloth) over the top of a wooden structure (not getting into names for this thing) so that it can provide some shade. I will attach it myself with steel/copper/plastic fixings and won't complain when it rots in the winter or lasts for 10 years!

Where can I buy some and how much is it? Please!
