I haven't yeard anything, except one of our friends was told (they were in the TRNC early in the year) that more than 40 percent of the proposed berths had already been booked by people and space was quickly running out!!

I had a paddle in the bay last week and noted there was not any sign of the work starting on the marina. However, they have put in a tarmac road from the main road down to the Eagles Nest and a bit beyond.

Maybe, just maybe, there is movement!!

The project owners are indeed selling berths and properties on the two residential sites, work has also started on the quayside Taverna. These developements follow a successful participation at the recent London Boatshow.



However, prevarication on behalf of at least three TRNC Government Ministeries have stalled the construction of the Marina. The owners, being Turkish Cypriots, wouldn't say it themselves, they're are far to sensitive and sensible, but politicians and civil servants seem to be stalling the development for their own reasons, besides displaying their world renowned inefficiency and incompetenece - they seem to be blind to the obvious financial benefits this superb project would bring to the North's economy, where at the moment, there are few berths available for the growning band of yachties visiting the Med.

So, as has already been said, don't hold your breath.

The road past the Eagles Nest is now wider and tarmaced.

Just head West down the slope and where the road runs out look right.

Thats the marina!
