Hi all another daog has founnd me. This one about 6 months old white with large brown spots. Has a collar well a cut up belt around his neck. Sadly no name tag. Very thin but responds to human touch and is loving. Has anyone lost such a dog I hope that someone will claim him.I dont know which breed but I guess a mix of pointer and heinz 57. He is lovely. Keithcaley if you read this I have forgotten what you said to do. He is in a kennel at rear of the restaurant and has been fed watered and walked. If you are the owner please call me on 05338336911. Hi Liz - well my darling - you seem to have become the "Pied Piper of Cyprus". I do know what it's like - years ago we used to go to the Greek Islands every year. We have taken in dogs, numerous cats, a one-eyed chicken (the other chickens were picking on it) fed and watered sad donkeys. We did the same in Turkey and the Dominic Republic - the animals must sense kindness. They used to follow us home, be waiting outside our apartment, etc. I used to save my lunch/dinner, etc. just to feed the animals.



God help us (Paul's just as soft as I am) if we lived in TRNC - we'd have a smallholding with all the local waifs and strays.



PS If you love animals - then, to me, no-one's all bad.

oh spider you know what im like. I just cant bear it. They are so helpless. He just waked into the restaurant tonigh like he knew me. The other tennants nnext door but one called him over to them then tried to shoo him away with all the cars coming in I was afraid for his saftey. He was shaking for a good 30 minutes and I wrapped him in towels until he calmed down. I have fed him as poor love was so hungry. Walked him and put him in my kennel. I hope he is just lost and someone will claim him.I have called him Dylan. Please God xxxx

Hi Jean Im a magnet to them. I just cant help it as it breaks my heart. Guido is like Paul and goes along with it.I made him make pasta and gave the dog the rest of the lamb from yesterday. He is very loving but if no one claims him what do I do. I could not turn him out on the street. Im just like you and wont tolerate any abuse to any poor creature . Speak soon xxxxxxxx lots of love

Bless you. I go round feeding and helping the strays as and when I can. I do hope little Dylan gets a new home soon. What these poor dogs go through in their lives here is so sad. I can't bear to think of them not having a loving home and having to fend for themselves. Its heartbreaking. xx

I know Amber. Then you read about Turbos sisters dog.How I wish I could win the lottery an\d give them a good start. Stella is giving me a kennel so I can look after him for as long as it takes.I thought when I saw him he must belong to someone as it had a collar on but on close inspection it was a cut down belt which looked like rope had been tied around it. God only knows. Any luck with you getting yours back yet. xxxx

Oh my....I know Bertie very well...me and my neighbour actually named him!!



It seems every now and again he escapes and trys to come back to Karsiyaka!! I originally found him kipping on my gate doorstep, passing the day chatting to my own 2 dogs through the railing...my neighbour and i would feed and water him, and i would let him come inside when the rain was falling. Then we found him a permanent home at the Green Velley, and thought all would be well....since being back in the UK, i know he has returned to Karsiyaka at least twice! Perhaps he misses hanging out with my dogs, and my neighbours delicious food!!



Anyway,let us hope he'l stay put this time, although i doubt it...best to just keep eyes peeled in case you see him trotting down the road for a visit..

Bertie is owned by the Green valley restaurant, the problem with him is he likes the streets and people so he often visits me at my office or Angie at jafeica bar.



The owner does not like to chain him up as he is a free spirit, so that is when he wonders off but always sticks around this area.



So I am afraid you will see Bertie around quite often.

Well not long after we reunited him I got the shock of my life when I turned around in the restaurant and there he was just sitting in the bar area. . Returned him again. So far he has not beeen back but my guess is that he will but at east we know where to return him to xxxx

Lili...i always thought he was a little gem...a bit naughty, he used to sit at my gate and when my dogs would bark at someone, he would do the same...he copied absolutely everything my male dog did...it was funny at first, but it got to be an issue because he wasn't behind a fence, and started frightening people...i knew and so did all the other english folk, that he wouldn't hurt anyone....but it became important to find him a home, which we did...but he is the most lovable little fella for sure...i wonder if neutering him would stop the walkabouts...

By the way, i have a pre-op next wednesday, its just to check i'm healthy enough for surgery...and then the op should be a couple of weeks later....providing all goes to plan, i should be back rather soon me thinks!!!

I think that lil Bertie is a bit of a player...he's not really a scaredy cat...although he is a bit wary of strangers...but once he's had a fuss...he's over it pretty quickly!! He does have a habit of following people...he even used to sleep under my neighbours car and pounce on her when she came outside to drive somewhere...very cute!!

Dear Bertie - well, I am so pleased that you are obviously a very happy (and a very lucky) dog. I am pleased that you have so many friends (dogs and humans). I would just ask one thing - please be very, very careful on the road when you are off visiting! It's a very busy road (as you know) and, as tasty as the titbits are in Guido's, we would hate anything to happen to you.



Now, I don't know whether you are familiar with the Dolmaci supermarket in Alsancak, but we have an apartment just behind there and you're always welcome to call round!!

Daisy it was a wrong move that you gave green valley the responsibility to take care of Bertie. Salih does not tie him up, Salih is hoping somebody will give him a home .

Bertie did not find his way home from Alsancak to karsiyaka, my husband took him there as we were instructed to by KAR . I fed bertie for 2wks thinking he was a stray then discovered where he came from because he had a numbered tag on his ear, which you decided to take off so he loses his identity.

This morning Bertie almost got run over and he is in a state., sleeping outside my office . So enough about bertie someone take responsibilty and give him a proper home .

Hi Belvu I agree with you . The state he arrived to me in was very pityful. He was so scared. I am worried about him. If they want me to search for a home for him I will but I went to the Green Vallley and saw a man who told me the dog was fine. I dont want to see him wondering the streets.So however that claims to be Bertie pointer can you take him. If he comes back to me today I will keep him in his kennel to stop him going walk about. Firestarter you are so right its not doing him any favours or a sense of belonging and of course your chan can come in anytime

I am not sure if it is Bertie I saw this morning. Same description, had a bandana on?? He was trying to cross the road by Rivada. I do hope he can be found a responsible owner who will not let him roam about on these roads. It is so wrong and the poor little love could pick up anything what with all these poisonings going on.



I do wish people would learn how to be responsible dog owners here.

Hi all, we have recently taken in a stray puppy which was found nearby, I must confess I was not convinced it was a good move as we are in an apartment but my daughter has taken on the responsibility and assures me that he won`t grow too big! He is a little darling but a right handful at times but bringing us lots of love and laughter, Lilli I too wish I had loads of `dosh` so I could open up a home for cats and dogs, I will never get used to seeing so many stray animals around and it breaks my heart when I see the dead ones by the roadside. Hope Bertie does have a good home and stays safe. Regards all.

First of all i didn't remove any tag from his ear, someone else did that!! Secondly he was not 'born' in Karsiyaka, he was just dumped there by someone, and thirdly, he was being a nuisance to passersby, and had had many threats of being poisoned, so it became imperative to find him a home, and as i imagine with most people when you find a home for an animal, you don't imagine they are going to be mistreated!! I have been in the UK since his wondering began, and therefore am unable to do anything!! Please ask about these things before accusing, it's hurtful especially as i thought he was in good hands!!

Ok Daisy calm down, I apologise ! I was wrong no you did not take his tag off I only found out because I know who you are now. I did see the woman who did return the dog back to Green valley and she obviously took his tag off, which means to me she does not want him to be traced back to Karsiyaka. As I said Salih does not want the responsibility of taking care of Bertie, I have spoken to him today he said he does not live at the restaurant so he cannot take care of him when he is away. Bertie is now in the hands of lilli and Salih accepts that.

Hi bertie. You seem to know an awful lot of whats going on. He went walkabouts again to belvu and then down to me where he sat waiting until I got there. He almost got run over again by Belvu> I have got him in his kennel as I dont want his death on my hands. Dee if your friend still wants a dog then give me a call. He has been walked watered and fed several times today and is better spirits now Rose has been down with a chewey bone and of course Angie can see him. I will walk him over there. He wants love and a good home with responsible owners and i will do my utmost to get that for him. So my guess Bertie is Pinkchilli. thank you, you have the story of bertie 100% correct. i have come across him several times over the last 4 months, a smart street dog and has food and lots of friends, a free spirit,he is lucky he is street wise, i see him crossing the main road often, thankfully the traffic slows down for him !!!! thanks to all who like myself care for the animals here. Gosh was just thinking Bertie has has more publicity than the last time POSH had a new frock on !!!!!

Hi lindamac. You are right he is streetwise but hasnt left my side today. I have walked him several times on a lead which at first he resented. Something has happened to Bertie this past week he shakes so much and is so scared. I took him to his friends at Jaffica and he walked so welll on the lead with me. He dosent want a life just wondering, he needs a sense of belonging and control. I spoke with Angie at Jaffica who said he was there till 1am this morning then just dissapeared. With all the election cars on the road which he nearly got hit twice Im worried for him. You cant have a dog and let him walk the streets. Tomorrow he goes to the vets to be checked.He is fine tonight xxxxxxxx

Where are they when you need them. almost feel like Im being stalked as he knows all my movements as well as the poor soul in question. Hope you and Bertie are well today. I also hope Bertie will find a good responsible owner who takes dog ownership seriously. I realise now that I have met Bertie myself once in Karsiyaka when he was hanging around with another stray.

Hi Amber and Kibris. We ae both fine today thankyou. Bertie has been to the vets today to start his injections and frontlined. He is quite a celebrity. I think I will become the max clifford of the cannine world and become his agent.He seems to have different names in all his regular haunts. Bertie Pointer he has been out for a walk many times today already on a lead. He has seen his human friends

Bertie goes to ' HOLLYWOOD' It is a good job I found him, it is amazing how many people claim bertie is their dog, but nobody ever thought to house him. But now he is a star everybody wants him !!!!!!!!!!

Lilli - seems you have another waif and stray!! Like you and many others, if I had the money and time, I would buy a huge bit of land and open an animal shelter. Wouldn't it be great - all us ladies (and some chaps, hopefully) running it!!

well bertie no sprouts but i had something i had no tasted before. lili told me it was beef ad i rolled it around my tounge but decided i loved it. I have had many tins of foood but this was so different. My meal was served with cauliflour cheese and carrots with what she told me was mashed potato and a roast potato. my taste buds haven reached all this ybut i did love the taste of meat. we had a lovely family in and they met me in the week. we decided to play with the toys lilli bought me and it was great fun but i saw my escape roue so i went. All I could hear was my name being called. I didnt know why thet did hat I only went for a pee. When I eturned everybody was happy but not as happy as me . Havent developed a sweet tooth yet but i will the food here is to die for not a sprout in sight. i do love what they call yorkshie pud no wonder my friends tell me i have put on weight. im happy xxxxxxxxxxx

Oh Rose if only you knew the real story. He has more than scraps unless you consider fillet steak a scrap. As you know if you were at the bank opening he was running around the back with his rubber chicken which he does 7 or 8 times a day. He has been to the beach today with James. I cant take him home as the gate is not fitted and I have had trouble with the police already threatening to shot my dogs. I have taken him back to see his previous owner. I have had Donty begging me to take his dog today but given all this I cant. So if anybody wants BEAR please call me. Bertie is so loved. He is off the lead playing every day and does he want to go NO. Beleive you me he gets a lot of excitment from our customers and our staff. Surprised you didnt see me throwing his frisbe

Lilli - strikes me that Bertie doesn't know a good thing when he sees it!!!! Fillet steak indeed - as all he does is moan and grumble! He gets to go on outings, walks on the beach, toys, love, etc. etc. and still he isn't satisfied! You must take him in hand Lilli.



I hope Jonty finds another home for Bear - when I read his posting today, it crossed my mind that he would have been in touch with you

Hiya Jeannie Thank you. Bertie is fine and so loved.This really pxxxxs me off when I have given him love and this person who signs on and off so quickly who professed to love him does this.. Like I dont care for him. I Love that boy so much. He has had his injections been frontlined etc. i know its not ideal but in all honestly him being on my balcolny in his kennel means i have access to him at all times that i am there. I wonder where her dogs are all the hours she works. They love him but couldnt home him. I know who it is and Im sad.I have had the week from hell about my dogs so no more for me. Bertie has had every chance to escape you know when I get into the restaurant each morning James lets him out to greet me. im bowled over not just by the weight of him now as he is fed on scraps but the love from him. He could go at anytime then. I do know and thats what makes me so sad. She should have given him a home. Remember she thought it was you that took the tag etc. Its not hard to discover on here. Lilly, surely the owner of the site will have the email address of this waste of space. Can you ask him for it and then report the stalkingto the Police. It is a very serious offence. Not only is this person watching your movements but they are reporting their stalking activities on here, and therefore they have no way out of it.
