Sadly altho I have to say I shop at Supreme all the time, the little cafe is truly dreadful, the ppl running it havent a clue and the food is not cooked properly, I had a fried egg sandwich and kev had a sausage and egg one and neither were cooked, we couldnt eat it...and we waited 40 minutes for it as well...wont be going back.. The only place where you get a good cooked brekkie is Cassini..opp Lemar in Karakum.

Don't forget Molly's between the Pia Bella and the Hospital (handy for when your arteries clog up ) - and the place just round the corner from HSBC, before you get to Octopus Pools, I forget what they call it, but Vaughan will know - he practically lives in there - I heard that they're going to make him sit outside in future, as they can't afford to widen the doorway!

Zerochlor..best to do that, altho I love porridge it doesn't like me, I always feel strange after I have eaten it, maybe I have an intolerance to oats.. Keith...Molly's is for me just about the worst english breakfast ever...soggy fried bread and far too greasy..yuk.

Did you complain about the breakfast??? I have been there serveral times and its been great. It had its teething problems but its great now. If you have a complaint then you must say there and then otherwise how will they know??? The lady that runs it makes fabulous bread pudding...

I have to agree with ladylittle. We have been there quite a lot and enjoyed very nice cappuccinos and lattes for 3.5tl each. We had a couple of cakes last week, 2TL each, and the carrot cake was excellent, banana muffin wasn't bad either. I think someone new has started and is still finding her feet so maybe not for those in a hurry... Must be the best value cafe around, I'm sure I heard them charging someone a total of 4TL for an bottle of Efes and a can of Strongbow but may have misheard.

Hi deecyprus4, I agree nothing worse than undercooked food but I agree with Ladylittle unless the people are told that there is a problem at the time how are they to know and to get it right next time. I do know that the girls working there would rather be told. It could well have been Helen my daughter on that occasion as she is a `new girl`. Looking forward to meeting you again at Guidos soon. Kind regards Lesleyb

"English breakfast"..? At first sight it looks like food, doesn't it, but then you have a closer look... You see these terrible white beans in a kind of red sauce... You notice some kind of silly sausage... An egg... The smallest piece of bacon you can imagine... No, thank you. I'll have a continental breakfast or preferably a Turkish breakfast *. * After all, this is the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, isn't it...

Juliet Who knows, maybe you can tell me what a 'Cypriot' breakfast is and we can discuss further. All I know is that after spending many a happy stopover in Istanbul (you might know it as Constantinople) and having enjoyed the breakfast's I have since always asked for a Turkish breakfast here and received the same. Not quite sure about asking for a 'Cypriot' breakfast but I will try next time and report back. I think it may cause some confusion though. AJ

A typical Turkish breakfast consists of cheese (beyaz peynir, kaşar etc.), butter, olives, eggs, tomatoes, cucumbers, green peppers, reçel (jam/marmalade; a preserve of whole fruits) and honey. Sucuk/sujuk (spicy Turkish sausage), pastırma, börek, simit, poğaça and even soups can be taken as a morning meal in Turkey. A common Turkish speciality for breakfast is called menemen, which is prepared with roasted tomatoes, peppers, olive oil and eggs. Invariably, black tea is served at breakfast. Coffee has affected Turkish culture so much that the Turkish word for breakfast, "kahvaltı" literally means "before coffee" (kahve 'coffee' altı 'before' or 'under'). tootie

Ive had a few good full english breakfasts and a few not so good. Won't mention the not so goods, but 2 of the best have been, Kings Bar and Mollys. Both excellent value with genrouse helpings. Best meal of the day and sets you up nicely for whatever the days brings ahead.

have not been into the cafe at Supremes yet - i am concerned as it looks like the kitchen area/food prep areas/crockery etc are open all the time. There are no shutters or anything to close at nights to stop cats and things !!! from investigating. I do know the food is kept in the fridge so that is protected but would rather not run the risk of eating there whilst there is no safeguard against the local wildlife being able to climb/sit/walk all over kitchen and crockery etc. Shame as it looks nice and i would, if not for the above, have liked to try some of the goodies on the menu.

Went to Drop in in Alsancak today ,10tl for full English or Turkish, everything freshly cooked, plentiful and yummy, price includes loads of hot buttered toast and the best mug of frothy coffee i've had since been here!! The owner and his son are lovely people, helpful, welcoming, even flipped the egg on my oh so picky daughters egg on her "Turkish". Certainly gets my vote for best brekkie on the Island and the rest of the menu looks good too, will certainly be returning regularly to sample
