Decent place to use as a basecamp

Hello, I am coming over to nc later this week, any views on a good place to stay. I am going to base myself in kyrenia, while I go house hunting for either long term rental or something to buy. Want some where with clean and tidy rooms with a decent bar and restaurant ( no silly prices ) but with a bit of atmosphere. many thanks.

Rodders....if you search this forum you will find many recommendations for the Pia Bella Hotel in Girne which should fulfil all your requirements.

As others have said,the only thing I would suggest is to choose a "superior" class room or at least make sure you are away from the rooms adjacent the neighbouring Casino.

Other than that,a perfect choice,with friendly efficient staff.

Maybe you would like to try the Altinkaya, on the Bellapaise road i think you will find it has all of that.

Another good choice RCTMan.....We've stayed at the Altinkaya also....but I feel that the Pia Bella is better located and has more atmosphere.

We stay in the main building of the Pia Bella facing the pool and gardens never heard any sound from the Casino at all, you are asked at breakfast each morning if you have any problems if you have they are put right for you straight away.

The Ship Inn is a great place to stay. It is not to far out of town and a dolmus passes the door. Great atmosphere and staff and very reasonably priced.

Half board at the Pia Bella quite good, plenty of choice and drinks are very reasonable and usually a good atmosphere round the bars.
