Jack tweed was today senteced to 12 weeks custody for the attack on a teenager. His lawyers are going to appeal due to the recent tragic circumstances. They claim he has matured very quickly and is a changed man. Jades family are understandably very upset.

He was found guilty and therefore should serve his time, let the punishment fit the crime. If it was a relative of yours who had been attacked would you want the offender punished or a lesser sentence passed because he had matured. I don't think so.

Lilli I agree with the other comments..he may have matured tho I doubt it and he has been lucky in regard to this, many others would have received much harsher sentences...and if I am totally honest the longer he is kept away from Jade's boys the better..he is certainly not a role model.

The only reason his legal team are appealing the sentence is because they know he has "money" and so are milking the situation for what it is worth. Why are Jades family upset as he has no legal standing where the children are concerned.

Lilli, I hope this does mature him, he most definitely needs something to push start him. Having just seen sky news, I cannot believe this story even made the headlines, surely there are more important things happening in the world.

Who is Jade Goodey..? And what about her relative living in New Zealand? Or her former neighbours? Huh? This really can become a wild thread, I think. Come on, ladies, sit down and gossip...

Yes he has been really stupid in the past and should pay for what he has done. But I also think he deserves a lot of credit for the way he nursed Jade when she was so ill. He is only 21 and not many men that age would have done so.

Oops posted that off before I meant to say, I agree Amber, but enough is enough, and if he has hurt someone then he should do the punishment. He cannot go around hurting people, and get away with it forever!

He was on Bail for assault and then comitted the same offence whilst on bail and whilst his wife was ill he new the consequences. Automatic remission is one third of the sentence he will only have to do 8 weeks. He should think himself lucky he got off so light, I bet his victims are not too happy.

The Tweed family think he had been hard done to because of who he is! probably not a millionaire but Jade would have seen him comfortable I am sure, he looks a bit smarter than he used to anyway.

About time it was put to rest but the media will not let go, pictures on TV showing Police making photographers get down out of trees trying to get photos of Jack leaving court. It's the governments fault, they are trying to distract the public away from their wrongdoings!!

RE msg 24, Woodspeckie > photographers get down out of trees trying to get photos of Jack leaving court < and > It's the governments fault, they are trying to distract the public away from their wrongdoings!! < => Wrong. It's the stupid people "interested" in this sad rubbish who are to blame. And no-one else. No unhealthy public interest = no pics, no stories, no nothing.

Didn't a certain Mr Dennis Wise commit the same crime a few years ago? I seem to recall he got 3 weeks suspended. Edited for accuracy Bill as it was overturned on appeal Harold (reading Dennis' autobiography at the moment)

I think there has been enough said about this topic to enlighten us all. An assault on another human being in an non confrontational situation begs the question why? He has received the answer. The topic is closed. Lem
