I was wondering if there was a Gun Club in TRNC. I really like standing target shooting not live animals so if anyone knows of where there might be one I would be interested to know. Thanks

There is a gun club here, to find out details go to one of the shops that sells the guns. There is one near H.S.B.C. To get a licence (and a gun) you need to apply in writing at the Girne police station. It is then sent to Lefkosa to be approved and about two weeks later go back to Girne police station. Then you can chose your gun, the shop will give you a slip to take back to the police who enter the details on the licence. With this licence you can then collect your gun from the shop!!!!

Hi carrierbag, begin the process just as soon as you can, the time taken to satisfy the issuing officer at Girne Police station and the time taken for the documents to be returned was 16 weeks for me. This included 7weeks for a disclaimer from the S.W Police which I applied for on-line. Maybe easier if you apply via the gun club.

Anyone remember that episode of Only Fools & Horses when Delboy borrowed a gun from a mate who was a bank robber? When asked how come he was able to use it at a week-end shoot, he replied, "Cos the Banks are closed". Classic.
