The latest poisonings here in trnc................



When will it be a child ?



Who in power is man enough to stop the sale of poison ?



AND PROSECUTE THOSE WHO LEAVE IT LAYING ARROUND IN RESIDENTIAL AREAS ?

The photo of the cat is the spitting image of the one on my desk at the moment and gazing adoringly at me (wants it's tea).

We intend to bring it (and it's friend) to Karsiyaka when we move out on a permanent basis.

How do we stop our pets wandering off and being so unlucky?

Already posted this Nige but I dont think there was much interest so thought I would also post it here on your page as you never know it jusy might help save someone's Pet.



Guidelines for Emergency Action in the event of Poisoning







1. Induce Vomiting. This can be done by administering Charcoal Tablets (named Eucarbon Tablet in local Pharmacy) or by strong salted water, Do not give liquids other than to induce vomiting.







2. Immobilise animal. Carry animal, do not try to make it walk. Do not panic as this can stress the animal and make it go into shock.







3. Telephone to seek veterinary help and get the animal to the vet as quickly as possible.











Symptoms: Foaming at the mouth, body trembling like movement under the skin, spasms, weakness and diarrhoea.







Remember: Always carry your mobile phone with you when walking your dog and make sure that you have all veterinary telephone numbers entered into your phone.



Avoid areas that have been reported as previously know for poison being put down.



It is advisable to muzzle your dog whilst exercising your dog and it is running loose.



If you find anything that looks suspicious like poisoned meat carefully pick it up and report find to KAR.



If your animal picks up poisoned meat return to area as soon as possible and pick up any remains of the poison. Report incident to KAR, Police and local Belediyre or Muhktar.

Hi Everyone

A little bit of news regarding the poisoning of animals. voicing opinions in forums is all well and good but actions speak louder than words, so please sign the petition and try to attend the meeting to get the government to take some positive action.

Following the public meeting held at Watermill Hotel Girne, Kyrenia Animal Rescue representatives are endeavoring to secure an appointment with President Talat in order to present the Petition that calls for changes in the way that lethal poison is imported, sold and indiscriminately used.



It is hoped that the many supporters of KAR including those who attended the meeting, pet owners, students and all interested parties will support on the day that the Petition is presented. It is planned that Television and Press will be in attendance so the more people that can attend at the appointed time the better. KAR hope to show a strong and united front when meeting with Mr. Talat.

The date and time of the appointment will be posted on the web site

President Talat has agreed to accept the KAR Poison Petition and the Presidential Office will contact KAR with an appointment date and time. Watch This Space!!!.

Thanks Kazz

I really hope that more people will attend some of these meetings and sign the petitions then maybe they might do something about it.

I also think that putting poison down for the animals are appalling but to do it in public area's where children could quite possible witness a dog or cat suffering from the affects of being poisoned could be quite traumatic for them as its bad enough for an adult to witness.
