Hi, I am coming over at the end of May and would like some info on eating out prices. We previously visited Kyrenia 6 years old and found it very cheap compared to the South. How much would a meze cost in Niazas and a meal for 2 adults and 2 kids in Ezics? Any recommendations for a good meze - we are staying in Karsiyaka but will have a car.

In my oppinion the best meze can be found at the Tervutola in Alsencak, it is on the left one hundred meters down the Merit hotel road.Themeze which concists of ten or eleven dishes both hot and cold, the meals range from twenty to twenty eight TL and include fruit and coffee and brandy.

Bob,

Please don't tell everyone about Tervetuloa, if I can't get a table there when we visit I will blame you !

Best place to go for a good meal with great service and fair prices, but keep it to yourself, please.

If you prefer more of a local atmosphere, try Cenap in Alsancak. The amount of meze they server is so gigantic, it's almost ridiculous. I usually end up taking the main courses home.

Be sure to book in advance if it's a weekend.

Archway is far and away the best restaurant in the Girne area. Murat and Afun the owners are fantastic hosts. Prices start at 30ytl . Well worth a visit. Kitchens are spotless. All the food served is locally sourced. The yoghurt is made in the village and the olive oil served is from their own olive grove.

Cenap is fantastic value. Really lovely Meze and the service is outstanding. Full of Cyriots which I always think is a good sign.

Cenap in Alsancak 35 tl - the best meze in north cyprus ( according Kibris newspaper ) and all of the regular customers. Best value for money and best meze - if you can finish you are doing better than most people.

Tervetuloa is a great restaurant but for the full meze cenap is THE only place to go.

Thanks breezyboy, we are trying to work out how much money to take with us so its nice to have a rough idea of prices. Do you know if we would have to pay for kids - we have previously had a meze for 2 and all 4 of us have shared it (kids aged 2 & 10)

Had a curry the other evening, well known reasonable venue. Excellant food. Surprised that bill for 2, main course only, 2 beers and a soft drink came to circa £30 (70ytl). The days of cheap eating out appear, alas, over. Rather generalised view, I appreciate, but it seems the fewer the customers, that prices go up in NC.

Had a Full Meze at Niazas last Thusrday. It cost 27TL.

I have noticed in general that the prices for eating out have risen all over.

The average price for a main item in a reataurant is between 18 - 20 TL.

Hope the above helps.

prices as risen because the cost of living has. we pay a fortune for social security, work permits, elect., products etc etc.

we trying our best to keep the prices to the minimum so custumer can come back. you can have a bruschetta and a pasta for a total of 24 tl ( 10 quid for starter and main) and i think it's an excellent value for money.

I would also definitely recommend Cenap's in Alsancak... It is one of the only restaurants I make sure I take all of my friends to when they visit. You know a restuarant is good when it is virtually exclusively locals eating there...

It is 30ytl per person and the food is incredible - as has already been said, don't eat for at least a day before!

Enjoy!

Another wonderful meal at Cenap this week. All 30 dishes are freshly made each day, herbs and vegetables from their garden.

I have to say that Guido's is very competatively priced , food very good and varied , if its not on the menu , just ask he will make it for you , not a lot of restaurants would do that for you and not at all expensive

Regards , Simbas

It is true that service plays a very important role in the running of a restaurant. Personnally, i really agree that restaurant should try it's best to offer customer prompt and convinient service. Customer usually become impatient when they can't get timely service, and they have to cry out loudly or keep waving hands, restaurant calling system can help to solve this problem, it includs buttons that placed on tables, and display sreen carried by waiters, when customers need service he just need to press buttons and then waiters will receive it. You can find the similar products on website such as http://www.finyelectronics.com
